Mass Effect 2
First topic message reminder :
Seriously can't wait for this bad boy. But here's the thing, I'm not happy with my ME1 character/chocies so I'm going to start from a scratch on ME2. A reboot, if you will.
Anyone else getting it? If so, how will you start?

Re: Mass Effect 2
Well since I got it at 2.30pm yesterday I have had 1 meal break and a four hour sleep break last night. So I am thinking that is a good sign of enjoying a game.....

I keep checking on the status of my copy, it's said the same thing since last night "Preparing for Dispatching".. I'm getting a sneak suspicion that I'm not getting mine tomorrow... saturday if I'm lucky. Ah well Dead Space will have to keep me amused this weekend if that is the case

Did you order yours from Amazon.co.uk? Oh and did you pay for any extra postage options?

Re: Mass Effect 2
Nope I got it from Shopto they tend to be quite good with getting pre orders to you on time, whenever I've used them before the games come on or before release

Mass Effect 2 Achievement Guide
[You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
By Will Tuttle | Jan 28, 2010
All the info you need to get 1000 points in BioWare's stunning space RPG.
StumbleUponRedditFarkEmail While there's no denying Mass Effect's status as one of the current generation's finest games, it did have one glaring flaw: pain-in-the-ass achievements. You'd have to play through the game at least 3 times (seriously) to get all 1000 points, including once on Insane difficulty. That's dedication. Thankfully, BioWare's Master of Achievement Design (I assume this is a real title) decided to make things quite a bit easier for Mass Effect 2. This handy-dandy guide will put you well on your way to a perfect 1000 points, although you'll still need to work for them.
Tips 'n Tricks 'n Cheats
Difficulty: Although you could technically get all 1000 achievement points in a single playthrough on the Insanity difficulty, you'd only be making it unnecessarily hard on yourself. You're much better off playing through the game once on Normal (or lower, as there's only the one difficulty-dependent achievement) so you can collect and do everything more quickly. Once you've gotten the majority of them in the playthrough, you can start a new game on Insanity and burn through it doing the minimum amount of stuff.
Gaming the System: Mass Effect 2's achievements accumulate across multiple playthroughs and don't reset if you die, so you can technically use this feature to your advantage if you're in a rush to unlock them. In combat, you can pop off a few headshots or armor incinerations, intentionally die, then reload and do it again and again as many times as you'd like (consider it practice for the game's tougher moments if that makes it more palatable). You can even use this technique for BioWare even included a progress counter that will pop up when you hit milestones.
Make Your Squad Work For You: The achievements in Mass Effect 2 aren't just reliant on Shepard's power. In fact, you can use your teammates to help out quite a bit. I played with Cerebus Agent Miranda and Salarian Doctor Mordin for the majority of the game, as their Overload, Warp, and Incinerate biotic powers were extremely helpful in knocking down the Shields, Barriers, and Armor of your foes. The fact that there are three achievements with those very requirements isn't a coincidence, as you'll see in the Educational Combat section.

Seeing you're dedication warms my cockles , It's good to see some people still get obssessively excited about a pending release . I used to all the time but there's not been much lately to keep me excited and obssessively reading every possible thing about it. And I rather miss it tbh.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Ha yeah, it's weird to get excited again. Last game I was THIS excited about was Dead Space, and that was excellent and well worth the 8 month wait from when I first heard about it.
I'm looking forward to Bioshock 2, but I can't see how they can improve the original that much so I'm not trembling with anticipation.
Good days for gaming

Re: Mass Effect 2
I was never a fan of Bioshock tbh. But I've never been so excited for a game as I was for GTA IV. I literally spent about a year waiting for it, reading every possible thing, then a month before original release, it got delayed for either 5 or 7 months, can't remember which. But I was heart broken, it was literally like being ditched by the love of my life. I almost couldn't cope. Then when the game came out, I loved it for a day or 2, but slowly became dissapointed .
I was also really hyped for Modern Warfare 2, but that's mostly cos I was getting bored of W@W's multiplayer. But still. Nothing will beat the obssession I had for GTA IV.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Oh mate, Bioshock2 multiplayer will be the tits! You can be a house wife, with a massive machine gun. GENIUS.
I was never that up for MW2, but then I bought it and was like "HOLYSHITTHISISTHEFUCKINGBOMB!" Maybe because I wasn't expecting it to much better than the first.
GoW and Halo, now there's some massive let downs *sad face*

Re: Mass Effect 2
Well done on completing the game mate. I'm just about to find my last two recruits in Illium. So far it's an awsome game, can't put it down, not really played anything else.

Re: Mass Effect 2
Got a question for anyone who's played Mass Effect 2. Do you know any of the actors who have lent there voice and what character they did. I myself don't know many but here's my list.
Miranda is voiced by the actress from Chuck who played the Secret agent looking after Chuck. (Don't know her name)
The Illusive Man is voiced by Martin Sheene.
I also think that Adam Baldwin done the voice of one of the Quarians.
Seth Green does the voice of Joker.
Thats all I know at the moment.
