Why did they have to wreck a perfectly good game with no need for multiplayer.This is definitely going to degrade the single player story

The main problem I have with it so far from what I've read is that to get the best posible ending in single player will require me to play multiplayer because of the war assests thing, this doesn't make sense to me.
I sort of expected them to add some sort of multiplayer though just because every game seems to have some pointless multiplayer these even if the game doesn't need it.

They said they have a option to turn on the war assets thing or not.
You can still get the best ending with it turned off.
