Mass Effect 2

First topic message reminder :

Seriously can't wait for this bad boy. But here's the thing, I'm not happy with my ME1 character/chocies so I'm going to start from a scratch on ME2. A reboot, if you will.

Anyone else getting it? If so, how will you start?

They seem to have managed to get it off the US marketplace before most people over there woke up judging by all the internet forums buzzing over this. Ironic really that we managed to get it in the UK only

Yeah there were a couple of sets of armour, a few guns and a couple of pieces of equipment. I think most of it will come with the UK collectors edition anyways

am sure the links will go up again when the UK content comes out.Although one piece that went up yesterday - The Dragon Armour - was a DLC extra with Dragon Age Origin that carries over to ME2

One of the pieces of DLC looked like an extra mission or something......'Normandy Crash' was a 50Mb download.

That one comes free when you sign up to the Cerberus network - the ingame DLC streaming device - and will be free with all new copies of the game apparently

I'm booking Friday afternoon off to give this the loving start it so rightly deserves.

I had it pre-ordered with Zavvi, but after reading a load of 1 star shitty reviews, I've cancelled. I'll just swing by Gamestation after work, or even check out the super markets.

zavvi were excellent but just before Christmas they obviously had some major fcuk up

i had duplicate orders, wrong orders, double payment collections etc so i have pulled using them and the hut until i start seeing they have got their ducks back in line

i found that last year etailers in the main dropped their service levels almost across the board

the only exception for me was amazon who deal with customer service better than any other place on the web

i guess the constant need to undercut the high street and the fact that folks are used to using etailers means that the fabulous first couple of years of buying off the web will prove to be an anomaly

so its back to the shops which ultimately might not be such a bad thing after all

I tend to order from Amazon.co.uk and have to say that so far (touch wood) I have never had a problem with them... used Zavvi a couple of times and they were pretty good also... to be fair all the while amazon are selling games cheaper (on average £10 cheaper) than the high street stores, the likes of Game and Gamestation will not get my business... i mean seriously £43 for a new copy of Bayonetta in Game/Gamstation or buy it for £29.99 online... I know where my money would be going, and it aint the high street. I'll actually buy from supermarkets before I use Game/ Gamestation... seriously those store have gone majorly downhill.

Already looking like one of the best reviewed 360 titles ever!

To say that is impressive would be a bit of an understatement... I don't think I have ever seen a game get scores like that... so either this game is totally awesome or EA sent out lots and lots of really big brown envelopes

Just had an email from Game telling me that my copy of Mass Effect 2 is on it's way. Brilliant, can't wait.

It took me a very long time to get into the first Mass Effect; I hated the unintuitive inventory system, the texture pop, the awful Mako sections and the feeling my initial class (Sentinel) was woefully under powered. Despite loving the characters, dialogue trees and universe, I gave up after 8 hours. A year later, I started again as an Infiltrator, got over my aversion to the Mako and completed it. It's now one of my favourite games this generation, so really looking forward to ME2. I just need a LOT more free time to even consider buying it.

I hope it overtakes GTA 4 as the best reviewed title on metacritic. Its good, but its not the best game on the 30 by a long way

Despite its flaws (and there were indeed many) I loved this game right from the start, although I have to agree the Mako sections were shere hell... I'm so glad they have got rid of that crap for number 2.

Mass Effect 2 has already been updated with a new cheevo.....now sits at 1015.

And there was me thinking that 1050 was an odd amount when the released Bring Down the Sky for ME1... this is definately an interesting new max figure.

looks like the ME2 launch stateside has gone all fooked up


EA have been flooded with complaints about crashes, non loading of save ME1 games, the cereberus network being borked and EA online accounts for other games causing problems too


Guess the review copies did not have those issues ...cough..

I never understood why EA made folks sign in to some online account when they were already in Live but folks in the USA are having to contact EA customer support to ensure their gamertags are linked to their EA accounts.

So finally I can add my 10/10 score to the list

If anyone gets their copy in next day or so I would suggest checking a few forums to see if everything has been fixed afore ye play

Lets hope EA fix this quickly as no doubt the game will be due for removal from their servers soon lol
