Top 50 gaming characters!

A poll conducted for this years Guiness book of records gamers edition, revealed the top 50 video game characters of all time. The poll of around 13,000 people threw up some surprising results as you may expect, and as usual, will cause much debate!

Quite how Leisure Suit Larry can poll above the mighty Augustus Cole for example, or how that young upstart Soap McTavish can jump straight in at no 12, usurping such legends as Sam Fisher and Dante will only cause serious uproar!!!!

How is Altair above Ezio in this as well? I wonder who they polled for this survey as the fact that characters like CJ Johnson are in there, while Sam and Max or Dizzy is missing (OK Dizzy is a bit understandable but you see my point!)

It's curious how Good old Gordon Freeman is always up there in these polls! Not bad for someone who barely if ever speaks!

I agree! Naruto shouldn't be on this list. It angers me! They could give his place to Barry Burton!! But then if you exclude Naruto, there'd be an argument for excluding the Pokemon, and then we're opening a right can of worms! We just have to accept him, i guess! I could draw a beard on him and pretend it's Barry...

Also, Sagat should be there and various others! Perhaps we should do our own categorised poll of the best characters from each genre of game!? Then bang the winners into one definitive list. But then we can't without talking about other gaming platforms!! And now i'm just ranting.........ZZZZZZZZZZZZZZZzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz

OMG totally, barry burton was a bear of a man and saved my ass a few times on resi evil, I dont think they interviewed gamers for this, just random ppl on the street

I don't think thats too bad an idea, at least we'd know its a true gamers list of top game characters
