So reports Edge here. Supposedly its been delayed until next year to leave Halo Reach and Natal unchallenged

I can't confirm this yet, but . . . .

There seems to be some serious worry about playing the game early and you then losing the gold weapon skins you get for having the Veteran Gear achievement after the title update kicks in.

From what I can gather, there will be a title update almost immediately. If you've played the game before this it will have scanned your achievements and given you the gold weapon skins accordingly, however, rumours are saying that after getting the update you might well lose all your gold weapon skins.

If mine does come early, I'm thinking about playing it on one of my silver profiles, just in case. Unless this rumour gets squashed and we needn't worry afterall, until then, I'm taking precautions. That's if it actually arrives early of course



So just a heads up in case anyone gets their copy early.


PS: I can't check anything on Twitter as I follow an awful lot of MotoGP folk on there and don't want to know about free practice until the wife gets home and we watch it together.

Bit worrying that as I was hoping to get Gears 3 a day early (Fingers crossed shopto delivers in time lol) but think I shall hold off from playing this until the official release day.

It took me ages to earn the veteran Gear achievement and don't want to do myself out of the gold weapons!

Seems the prices for those DLC skins have been announced by Rod via a live stream.
You'd better be sitting down before you read this . .



For All 22 weapon skins we have to pay 3600 points.

For a set for "Moving" weapon skins like the flaming guns, they are 320 a set. A set includes all 5 starting weapons, Gnasher, hammerburst, lancer, retro, and sawed off.

For non moving sets, we have to pay 240 a set.



That's taking the piss on an EA level. Almost 30 quid for some weapon skins. None of which will be available through in game unlocks.
I know there's plenty of them, but no amount of cosmetic tweeks are worth that much.
Think I'll leave these till they hopefully drop in price or feature in a deal of the week.

Wow, that is just unbelievable, I am actually shocked at that price. Good thing I wasn't planning on buying them.

Wow that is taking the mickey, it seems Epic have sold out just like EA and many other publishers have done over the past few years.

I am a huge Epic and especially Gears fan but they are fast losing my support on Gears 3, to get all of the bonus Character skins you had to pre-order from 4 different websites and then they announced the Season pass thing (Though I realise it isn't called that - apologies!). If one of those DLC's is weapon skins then you are getting a real bad deal..

Can anyone remember Epic giving away their first map pack on Gears for free and not wanting to charge?

Huge Gears fan, bought every piece of DLC from both games and loved every minute of it but no way am i buying Gun Skins for those kind of prices!

Level 90 now on Gears 2, my eyes feel inside out

I've got mine already. Didn't expect it to come today. Infact I never even realised there was a preorder still....

I've still got to wait till midnight, this is going to be a long day.

Heard knock at door, got all excited.
It was the postman so I thought give me my gears.
Gives me a package and turns out it was just my USB memory stick that I ordered
Doh!

I'm off to gamestation at midnight to get my pre ordered copy because there giving away 800ms points if you collect at midnight.
I wonder how many other geeks will be there?

I hope I get my game tomorrow. I got my projector up and ready to play.

So I got mine yesterday and though I may be very very biased being a huge Gears fan, its amazing! The Multiplayer is the best it has ever been and nobody can moan about "Host advantage" anymore with the dedicated servers.

I won't say much more because I don't want to spoil it for anyone, but did you all get yours safely? What were the lines like at midnight?

The line at my local gamestation was not massive but there were around fifty people there but mostly students who you can tell will not be in college today

I had a quick go of the game this morning and i am liking it so far

I got mine. yipeee. Loading it on my hard drive, got it connected to my projector and way I go.

i went to my local gamestation at midnight and there was a que out the door which surprised me as i live in a small town.
Never seen so many pale faced kids in the same place.
Saw 6 consoles sold as well which surprised me also.

I can't find my Gears 3 beta save anywhere. Looked on the HDD and the little memory stick, not that I'd have saved it to there and it's completely vanished
There's no way I would've deleted it as I knew very well before the beta ended that it was needed to keep all your unlocks.
Strange thing is, when I go to the options to choose which skin to use on the guns in multiplayer, I've got the gold retro lancer, which says it was unlocked in the beta.
Can't believe all that hard work for nothing. No Cole Train, no flaming guns, nothing!

Ive got the same problem. I played the beta on my old xbox and since then ive upgraded to a slim so i dont have the saved data any more. Anyone know a fix for this?

Transfer cable?
There is a problem with the beta unlocks even for those who still have them.. I am damn sure i unlocked the Cole Train skin in the beta, as it was the last thing i did.. yet nope, not there.. dunno if anything is else is missing but not bothered except for me cole train skin

Cant use a transfer cable as i traded my old xbox in for a new one
