Wii U recommendations...
So, I'm venturing back to Nintendo for the first time since the N64. I'm picking up a Wii U from Game at some point this week, but I can't decide what to get.
I know I'm getting the premium console, with Nintendoland, but they're throwing in another discounted game. Choice is 1 of 4 and I've narrowed it down to either New Super Mario Bros U, or Lego City. I'm swaying more toward Lego City....but....Mario.
Also....the likes of Arkham City, Assassin's Creed 3, or Mass Effect 3....are the additions worth double dipping for?
Any other standout titles I should be looking out for?

Re: Wii U recommendations...
Nice one mate.
100% you should get Lego City ahead of Mario, its not more fun as its different but you can play it for longer periods and enjoy it more.
Mario gets uber hard unless you have someone else to lay down extra blocks for you.
Zombi U is the other game worth getting but nintendo land and Lego city will last you ages so don't get anything else as the prices will have dropped by the time you finish those too.
Monster hunter is also meant to be good but I don't have it.
Virtual console is awesome and you should still be able to pick up metroid for 30p
Lots of great games on the eshop too!

I'll probably be picking one up when I get paid and will be going for Lego City over Mario... Never really got into Mario. Personally I'd save the likes of Arkham City, Assasins Creed for the Xbox. I've always had a Nintendo Console for the Nintendoesque games that are lacking on the Xbox.

Good work Graham! Nice to see some Ninty love!
I'm gonna buy one fairly soon, I'm just waiting til Ninty announce their alleged new strategy this summer, which will hopefully see a price drop. Ninty are still the masters of refined gameplay, I don't care what anyone says!

I was gonna wait a bit longer, but I want Super Metroid for 30p!!
I think I'm going with Lego City. Depending on how much I get for the remainder of the games I'm trading in, I may well throw in something else.

Re: Wii U recommendations...
Graham is there not a cex near you as you would get a lot more for your games over say a gam store. Ad you get a twelve month guarantee with a pre owned console if you bought there anyway.
I would of said that the new lego city is better as I played the mario game while in a shop a week or so ago and like Kent says seems uber hard

Re: Wii U recommendations...
I got it this morning. Nintendoland premium bundle w/ Lego City and some random accessory set.
I already had £130 on a giftcard, so doing it all at Game made the most sense.

Re: Wii U recommendations...
I finished the storyline in Lego City yesterday and its not been a bad game at all
A little glitch in places and a little long on the load times but its certainly the stand out title for the machine
Hope you enjoy it
As a tip, don't waste anytime picking up studs early on
You will bag a 2x and 4x and 6x redbrick multiplier on the way through so you can buy whatever you want later.

Yeah, I always go for the multipliers first in the other Lego games. The problem so far has been getting blocks to build stuff. Been playing for about 4 hours now and only have about 2% completion, so it's obviously going to take a long time to get to 100%. Loving it though up to now. The gamepad integration is fantastic.
