So I am giving in to the lure of the new technology (it was always going to happen) and going to buy a Kinect.

Just wondered from those of you who have already got one, what games you would recommend and what ones we should avoid?

We are getting the Argos bundle which comes with Adventures, Kinectimals, Joyride and Forza 3 but are planning on trading in Joyride and Forza to get Kinect Sports. I'm quite interested in getting a fitness game in the hope that this expensive piece of technology might encourage me to actually move on occasions.

Any recommendations would be appreciated.

Your Shape seems to be the most accessible and fun fitness one, the only other game that I have found to be worth the purchase is Crossboard 7 Very Happy

I have Kinect Sport Dance Central - these 2 are the favourites for all Both good all round games, Kinect Sport has to top it for me as I only play DC when on own or totally pissed... drunken

Also have kinect adventures 7/10
Sonic Free riders 7/10 takes some getting used to playing sideways n leaning..not the easiest to handle

Played Joy ride demo, wasnt impressed

Just got Zumba on rental...what a crock lol Well its oki but hubby was playing it last night, NOT under force btw!
Twisted EvilHe could have just stood and moved a little bit and still got the scores he was given. No effort needed to score, the tracking is appalling. Not bad music though I guess.

Have heard that the Your Shape is probably the best exercise as Nite said

Other than that not got any more lol. Not been tempted with Kinectimals, but Im wondering for the points lol

There's not much to go for atm except for what has already been mentioned..
Reading thru my OXM there are some on the horizon, including the Star wars one shown at the demo/preview of Kinect where you are the Jedi and hand gestures are your way of using the force in game.. dunno if your gonna have to hold a stick or something to represent the glo stick thing Razz lol but will be fun finding out

Some Japanese devs have brought out some that are maybe making their way over here.. survival horrors.. hope they do
Things are looking up for the sorts of games to be released for this, and the ones yet to be thought up.. will pish all over the wii from a great hight lol cheers

Nothing I can really add tbh. Biggest Loser isn't bad to get, cos it's only aronud £13 to buy brand new.

Also, Tesco and Currys or PC World are selling Kinect + Adventures for £99.99

I've heard if your EA active may be better than Your shape but having not played either I can't really say. DAnce Central seems to be very popular too

I have a kinect and have and have Kinect adventures, dance central, kinect sports and the biggest losser. All the games are good but i never play them for long about 30 mins at the most where as a good FPS shooter i may well play for days on end.
The biggest looser is good for an exercise game but i have not played any of the others, it sets you out a workout plan and measure your height etc.
The kinect is a clever machine and find it better than the wii.
The only problem i have with it is in kinect sports when you have to jump in the games for long jump and hurdles you have to jump before you want your avator on screen as it takes it a while to register.
Dance central is fun after a shed load of ale.

from a achievement point of view i would recommend game party : in motion if you got 2 people its a easy 1000 , me and my 6yr old maxed it in about 2-3 hours...... but make sure you only rent it as its a bad game clearly designed as a wii game with kinect added as a after thought
