Gears of war 2 Gears of Fitness XP event

Epic Games have announced that there will be a 22x XP event for Gears of War 2, which is spread across all gametypes, including Horde.

With the confirmation of both a release date, and the mid-April launch of the beta for Gears of War 3, Epic Games decided it was time to celebrate during the upcoming Games Developers Conference week with some extra XP!

Epic Games' own, Rod Fergusson, announced via his twitter that the XP multiplier would be the same as the amount of weight he lost (to look sleek and sexy) for GDC. After managing to lose a whopping 20 pounds, starting from 12th January and finishing on 21st February, Rod announced via Epic Games' Forum that the XP during GDC week would be timed by 22.

Rod also had some kind words to say for his supporters:

Just popping in to say "Thanks for all the support!". I made this public so that the community would motivate me and you have certainly done that. Everytime I look at a donut I think how pissed off you would be if it were only a 3x XP event

Good job Rod on losing all those pounds! This could also mean that anyone who is still yet to knock out the Veteran Gear Achievement, could lose a lot of hours needed towards unlocking this grind of an achievement.

The XP event will run from 9.00am EST, Monday February 28th, through to 9.00am, Monday March 7th.

Already got my veteran gear but will probably be online at some point this week to help people get theres

Are they messing around with Horde mode again? I enjoyed the Wretches one a few events ago, once they'd lost their shotguns. Gave me a nice little boost towards Seriously 2.0 and anything beats the mind numbing tedium of riding the Brumak.

I think Kent's holding out for 100 times XP before he bothers.
Might be a lot harder now finding decent KOTH boosting sessions as so many people will have Veteran Gear already and decide to join KOTH sessions to kill boosters. The Gears community isn't the friendliest on Live.

I hope with the other events that they bring the Annex playlist back into action; the past few event's i have missed and haven't had a chance to nail the annex achievement!

I might load this up, but even at x 22XP it will still takes ages from my level.

I heard level 80 is halfway, so I am miles off halfway.

Next March or at xmas surely they will do x50 or x100

Yeah, the XP on gears is mental Kent, that's why some king of the hill is indeed the way to go, nice easy way to boost yourself up and you will more than likely find that everyone who is playing king of the hill will be doing this.

It's boring, but worth the time and effort

if you get a king of the hill boosting not all that long but if you hammer it all week theres no reason you cant get to 100

Level 100 is something along the lines of six and a half million XP
With so many events happening so often it should be easy for anyone to get before GoW3 comes out.

from level 62 to 100 is the same as going from 1 to 94.

Yeah but with some KotH boosting it won't take that long mate. I suggest doing it whilst either watching a film or the footie or something.

Theres bound to be more xp events, so even if you just did an hour and went up another few levels its gonna get you nearer.

I managed to get to level 64 only found 1 boosting game in about 3 attempts. Found a game on sunday afternoon and managed to get a good score up via boosting and the host kicked everyone from the game (tosser) just before it ended so a wasted 20 minutes or so. gave in after that.
