WP7 Update today

I just had a WP7 update.

no idea what it added yet but had an update!

I have never updated my phone. It pops up and tells me it needs to every now and then, but I never remember to sort it out. It has to be plugged in and updated through Zune, right?

Aye just plug it into Zune and if it doesn't start automatically, you need to go to the top right and go through the options till you find the update my phone bit. I think that's how you do it, but I'm on WP8 now and to be honest the new system is a right pigs ear to use so I'm hoping I don't have to update for awhile!!

And just to make sure, it doesn't mess with your installed games in any way? A bit cautious about it as I know when you delete a game it deletes the save too. Don't want to lose my current progress in the few games I have on the go.

I know it shouldn't affect saves and things, but it'll give me peace of mind.

Nope....updating doesn't affect gamesaves.
