Today's WTF moment!!

Well flicking through the net today I come across a story regarding Bulletstorm. You remember Bulletstorm that awesome FPS that was a breath of fresh air in a world of repetitive shooters. It seems though it didnt sell enough copies to make a profit for Epic. So on top of the dissapointing sales for both Shadow of the Damned and Child of Eden, I am really starting to despair of the gaming community.

On a positive note, Epic being the great guys they are have not decided to drop People Can Fly (the developers of Bulletstorm) but are looking forward to working with them again.

I would imagine if the Gears 3 Beta had not been bundled then it would have ended up losing a fortune.

I think the combination of its Online Pass and its Adult language probably hurt sales too.

Seems odd as just like with Crackdown which had the Halo beta, the actual titles were very good indeed.

Bulletstorm is a bit samey and graphically glitchy to be a AAA release, but when compared to a lot of the purile dross thats pumped out of satans choccy starfish and onto the shelves, it was a masterpiece.

i have seen more people buying this now that it is cheap rather than at launch.

Tis a sad story but unless you are cod or fifa or a house name title you are gonna struggle to make it into the sales rich list

I think if Epic had taken a back seat on this and just let People can fly get on with it people may not have looked at it as well they have whacked a beta on it and everytime it is mentioned you have cliffy bs face around.

Gamers are fickle and will think this game must suck if they need to do this.
Personally I thought it brought a fresh feel to shooters and enjoyed it even without the beta
