Dead Rising: Case Zero to be released

Capcom have spilled the beans on the a tie in XBLA game for Dead Rising 2, this will also act as a demo for the main game.

Set three years before the events of Dead Rising 2, Case Zero tells the prologue story of hero Chuck Greene and his daughter, who has been bitten by a zombie. Arriving at a gas station, his car is stolen and Chuck must inject his little girl with the Zombrex vaccine every 12 hours to prevent the infection from taking hold.

Capcom have confirmed that Dead Rising: Case Zero will act as both a standalone title and a demo for Dead Rising 2. A portion of the game will be playable for free through XBLA. If you want the full game then expect to pay between 560 and 800 MS points.

The game is expected to last between 3 - 5 hours and will be released a month before Dead Rising 2.

The really cool thing about this release is that you'll be able to import your save into the main game, carrying over your character stats to start Chuck off with a boost.

I haven't played the first Dead Rising, so this will be a good way to try the new game out. 400M$ is pretty cheap really.
