Game Room

I was sceptical. Scratch that, I thought this was another attempt to bait players into spending money on something they'd never play.

Then I woke up this morning, downloaded the Game Room and two Game Pack's for free, spend only 480MS points on two arcade games (Asteroids, Red Baron... Atari love over here)... and OHMIGOSH. Nooooossstaaaaalgia! I fear my Gamerscore may grind to a hault as I play Asteroids until my eyes bleed. That game took over my life when I was a wee one. Man, this might be my favourite downloadable anything that Microsoft has ever released.

Well I got my 5 g for visiting your room so thanks for that. Havent been tempted into parting with any MS points though yet. Might wait and see what comes up for offer

Yeah as of now Im fine with just playing the demo versions of all the games so far.

Already spent 720 points......this could get addictive. The Atari 2600/Intellivision games are awful though.....some things are best left in the past.

I think the best thing about Game Room is the arcade itself. All that neon and classic chip tunes playing in the background - took me right back. I can't help feeling this is what XBLA should have been in the first place, but at the same time I have almost 50 XBLA games, so navigating them via the Game Room interface would be a chore.

Possible purchases for me: Super Cobra and err... that's it. However, with 7 new games a week announced, who knows what's round the corner.

well Im sorry, Ive already paid 400ms for and downloaded centipede a fair few months ago, why should I have too pay 240ms for a game I already have?

I really like this, the sounds remind of the arcades I used to visit as a kid nothing really takes my fancy so far though most of the games in there are a little bit before my time if they start getting games in there from 1986 onwards I'll be loving it. so far i have not bought any games but i can see me buying yars revenge for something so simple it still keeps me hooked

Even Asteroids sucked.

yeah some games you do need the paddles just dont work with a joypad
im hoping we get either of these

and this one that helped me for my teenage days

and loved this game and still play it on pc

I installed the Game Room last night and pack 1 and 2. Did as many of the free cheevos as I could... I even tried to buy an avatar and a cabinet but my Sexbox wouldn't let me...?

Oh I was speaking of the Atari version. Maybe its not called bomberman then, its the game where a prisoner drops bombs from top of screen and you have to catch them or something , i remember we had to use the controller with the wheel

Ah see, yeah that would be a different game, not too sure which one to be honest but Bomberman is by Hudsonsoft not Atari... so yeah, not sure which one you're after

bad emulation, shit controls, rip-off marketing tat like mascots and themes and a terrible selection of games.

if they can add Bomb Jack and Mr Do's Castle without mangling them, I'll be interested, but for now I'd rather replace my eyes with hot bees.

I like the whole arcade part, and the customization, but the games just make me feel like im stuck at work or something, it could just be the ones Im trying though, either way I think I got a good 150G=P
