EA Sports Rory McIlroy PGA Tour Delayed, Gameplay Modes Explained
EA Sports has announced that Rory McIlroy PGA Tour has been delayed until July. The upcoming golf sim was initially due to hit in June. In addition to the bad news, EA Sports also shared some more info on how the game will play across its three main gameplay modes; Arcade, Classic and Tour.
Arcade makes everything nice and accessible, like “slipping right back into a comfortable, broken-in pair of golf spikes,” says EA Sports. It’s has the analogue stick swing controls. “The length of your backswing determines the power of your shot, while keeping your swing on plane will affects accuracy.Additionally, aids like power boost, spin, and an aiming arc will help make this style the most accessible.”
Classic mode takes you back to the old-school three-click swing mode. “This isn’t some rookie mode though,” says EA Sports, “you’ve got to get the timing just right to hit the perfect shot. You also can’t add spin after the fact, so if the ball starts veering off-line you’ll just have to be ready to deal with the consequences.”
Last up, Tour features the hardest of the hardcore controls for “true pros,” says EA Sports. “The length of your backswing and the speed of the follow-through set the power, while accuracy is determined by how straight a line you make with the analog stick. There are no assists such as spin, zoom and aiming arc. Just you, the club and the ball.”
Rory McIlroy PGA TOUR is now out on July 14th, the same week as the Open Championship.

Use to enjoy the Tiger Woods games - haven't played one for ages though. Might be interested in getting this.
