Gamecube Controller Adapter coming soon to the Wii U

Title says it all there chaps and chapettes
The included video is a Smash Bros Tournament that's happening at e3 and its advertising the chance to spectate it ^^ but 2:25 into the video it reveals the new controller adapter but there was no mention if the adapter itself only works with Smash Bros or if there will be more freedom with it. Will we be able to use a GC pad to play virtual console games or games such as Mario Kart 8? Guess time will tell, hopefully they release more information at e3.

Really hope this means GameCube games on virtual console surely they wouldn't go to all that trouble just for smash bros?

Don't have a Wii u so no use to me but I thought GameCube had one of the comfiest controllers around. Smash bros and windwaker HD are tempting me to buy a Wii u though

Back on topic, it makes sense. The Gamecube pad is one of the comfiest and nicest to use of all time. Much better than that sucky controller they released for virtual console on the Wii. Yuck!
