Don't think you need the friend code. Once you've got the recommendation code, pass that on to Kent who in turn uses that code in exchange for a code to download Animal Crossing through the Eshop.

Unless I am missing something I had nowhere to put in the code

they did have a good promotion earlier in the summer where if you bought three games from a selection you got one free, I'd already bought three so got monster hunter free, haven't touched it yet though!
