Microsoft to make their own phone?

There are rumours flying around the net at the moment that Microsoft are producing their own phone for release. Although nothing, as ever, is concrete it is suggested that this would be quite a high end phone and would be released later in WP8's life time. There is good thinking as to why this could be all true for once though.

As Microsoft showed off recently, they can produce their own technology with the Win 8 tablets and with the cross-over of technology's involved in Smart Glass it would make sense to produce their own phone which would be designed specifically to handle the cross over of data between Xbox, tablet and data. With this cross platform approach Microsoft may well be trying to take on Apple itself but with the added bonus if their OS being compatible with non-Microsoft products.

Not sure what to think of it as I wasn't too interested in their smartglass thingy. But, hey, if its a nice looking FUNCTIONAL phone and its a decent price (and my carrier has it) then I would be interested

Well I am 100% buying a Win 8 tablet and phone in the next month, so we need lots of coverage to help me decide where to put my money!

Interesting......if anyone can take on Apple, it's Microsoft. If it fails though, I hope they don't burn their bridges with the likes of HTC and Nokia.

I really am undecided at the mo glad that I have some time to decide yet. I like the look of the new Samsung and the htcx but I am really drawn to the Nokia lumia 920 massive memory out of the box and looks like a good camera

I'd be quiet interested in this. Wanna see more info and stuff first though but could possibly be my next phone. That or iphone 6
