Getting Bored Of Easy Games

Is anyone else struggling to find quality games in terms of difficulty? Games like Fable, Final Fantasy and Tekken are so much simpler than they used to be. The achievements are still cool, but do you ever feel like they're used to pad out basic storylines? Or am I just playing the wrong games XD

I am sure that there are plenty of challenging games but dark souls is the only one that came to mind oh and the obvious guitar hero 3

Games as a whole are much easier these days. No longer do you get just 3 lives and then have to start from the very beginning if you lose all 3.
There's still some hard games out there, Halo Reach on Legendary is not for the faint hearted if doing it all alone. Any of the Guitar Hero/Rock Band games on Expert difficulty will have most people tearing their hair out.

I think it's just the way games have gone over the years. In one respect, you pay a lot of money for a game and if all you're experiencing is the first few levels you're not getting your money's worth. It's also a reflection of how people are nowadays, they don't like a challenge and want things handed to them. Not just within gaming either, but overall with everything in life, but that's much more philosophical discussion for another time.

Glad it's not just me that thinks this. And guitar hero is easy for me since I'm a guitarist, sing star however I can't do to save my life!

Does being able to play a real guitar give you any benefit when it comes to those games then? I know you've got the finger strength and speed but it must be confusing having just five buttons and not an entire fretboard.

I write the actual notes on a piece of paper under the colour so esentially its like reading sheet music, so you see red orange green and I see G, B flat and E. 5 years of guitar switched to hours on GH its a good cheat to use

Very tempted to get Rocksmith when it comes out later this year, with the Les Paul too. Tried learning real guitar when I was a teenager but decided it took too much effort and couldn't be bothered. Who knows what might have happened if I'd stuck at it, I could be an aging rocker with 6 divorces and numerous drug habits by now, oh the missed opportunities

Doesn't help in my experience, 13 years of playing guitar and I'm terrible at those games. Could just be me though. Rocksmith looks pretty good from what I saw of it a while back, isn't it possible to just use any guitar with it as well? might have to check that out some time if that's the case.

Far as I'm aware mate, yes! You can plug in any guitar to play the game, just need the usb lead I'd imagine. Only thing worrying me is the setlist looks a bit weak, wonder how strong the DLC will be.
Could well be time to hang up the Fisher Price guitar and get my hands on the real thing.

I always get bored with crappy games, I have a few easy ones sitting on my shelf waiting, but sometimes I just want to play something decent! I just replayed Fable 3 for another completion and really enjoyed it, I also love getting lost in sports games where you can pretty much set the difficulty as hard as you want, should you want a real challenge.

Urgh, Fable 3. I am 2 achievements away from finishing with it. I think you could probably guess which 2.

As for challenge, Syndicate is pretty tough, both in co-op and single player. It's certainly one of the hardest FPS's I've played recently, as there is just so much to take in and deal with at once.

I agree most games are too easy nowadays and think the best way to find to find challenge on 360 is to play XBLA, particularly the old games such as Joust, Robotron and Tron... or the less brutal games such as Contra, Super Contra, Time Pilot and Rush n Attack.

If the oldies aren't your thing there are new games done in retro style and difficulty like Super meat Boy (the DLC Teh internet levels = much more challenging than main game), Geometry Wars, Rocket knight (not hard but a couple tough achievements) and Hard corps uprising - which I need to start work on -.

If it's a retail challenge you want it's alot harder to find but they are out there. Deathsmiles and Child of Eden are easy to play difficult to master; then there is Devil May Cry HD collection - which I don't remember being too bad on PS2 but still a challenge on the harder settings - and Quake 4/Unreal Tournament 3 (solo) on the hardest setting certainly aren't FPS challenges to be scoffed at.

Hope that gives a nice fairly large list to perhaps challenge yourself with

I assume its the weapons and clothes achievements? I have quite a few weapons and all clothes as I played as a male and female, If you want too, let me know what you want and i will see if I can help you out.

Games in general are a lot easier nowadays, I think in trying to remove some of the frustration from games they have also removed a lot of the satisfaction. I'm currently playing the witcher which is a nice balance, it isn't solid but its unforgiving enough that you really need to concentrate on the fights to stop yourself from getting killed every 5 minutes.

defo a lot easier than they uset to be and i think this is from people generally moaning that they are to hard

A good view of this is the gears of war series insane on the first game was bloody hard and in three if you have a computer player with you its pretty easy to be fair.

Just shows the power of the gamer these days as well.

This is my main one, I need to get a new acustic though because I fell on mine when I was drunk >.<
