Nova-111 Xbox One Review
Nova-111 Xbox One Review
Nova – 111 is a Quirky Sci-Fi Puzzler of a game that combines turn based strategy with real time action. Brought to us by Funktronic labs. Nova – 111 sets us in a quest to rescue 111 scientists scattered across the universe, I can only presume by some science experiment gone horribly wrong.
You begin by moving your little science robot one space at a time each move equals one turn. Whilst exploring you will find rocks in your way that can be smashed to open up new pathways, secret areas that contain much needed upgrades and also scientists in need of rescue.
Upgrades to your little robot can really be a game changer, They include a POLYBOMB, a grenade based weapon to damage enemies within a certain range. A LASER to shoot enemies or destroy harder rocks to access new areas. A PHASE weapon which acts like a teleporter enabling you to teleport past obstacles, enemies and enemies weapons. Finally a weapon that can stop time. All weapons work on a charge basis so use them wisely.
As always we are not alone and you will soon be encountering your first enemy. You kill enemies by smashing them with your robot or using one of the previously unlocked weapons. Each enemy in the game is unique not only visually but also in the way they move and attack. Some enemies don't play fare and refuse to stick to the physics of turn based combat. It's this mix of turn based and real time action that really takes Nova - 111 to a new dimension forcing you to think on more than one level. No longer can you sit back and plan your next move you must react quickly
Visually NOVA-111 looks vibrant and colourful with some nice environments offering a good range of enemies and environmental effects such as falling spikes and air tunnels. The in game audio does well to add atmosphere without removing focus from gameplay. Overall NOVA-111 is a challenging game that has a lot to offer and will keep you playing after you completed all three worlds, to either beat your friends time or turn score or to complete all the achievements
I’M SCORING NOVA-111 A NICE BIG 8 HADRON COLLIDERS OUT OF 10.

Re: Nova-111 Xbox One Review
Thanks for the info. Not a game that grabs me at the moment. Does it have plot and characterisation?

Re: Nova-111 Xbox One Review
I absolutely loved the idea of this game. Then they released screenshots and I absolutely loved the screenshots.
Then they released a video and I lost all interest. I just don't like how it moves. I'll probably pick it up when its cheap because of this review, though.
