Call of Juarez gunslinger:a mini review
Name of Game: Call of Juarez gunslinger
Style of Game: first person shooter
Graphics Quality: Borderlands with cowboys
Sound Quality: Great western soundtrack and good voice actors "ya sumbitches"
Difficulty: Takes a little getting into at first but you become unstoppable when unlocking skills
Ach points: Expect to put 15-20 hours into this maybe a bit more depending on your skill at shooters
Brief Thoughts: A borderlands style look meets the combo style gameplay in bulletstorm this game is pure fun and the arcade mode adds some replayability. Got this in the sale but I would say this is worth the full fee, top stuff!
8/10

Nice to hear you like it. I too got this in the sale and am looking forward to playing it.
I have enjoyed all of the Call of Juarez games so far (even The Cartel, which was very different but not awful like the reviews said), so will surely enjoy this too.

The Cartel was ok in parts. Enjoyed it, it was just very very unfinished.
Keep meaning to pick it up on the cheap as I've only got a few cheevs to get.

Yeah The Cartel was a bit glitchy too, but it was a fun enough game. Plus I thought the idea of the secret co-op missions was genius! I have only been through the game with one character and in single player though, so I suspect it'd be much more fun in co-op!

Re: Call of Juarez gunslinger:a mini review
Just started this the other day. So far I'm disappointed to be honest.
I enjoyed all the other CoJ games so I don't really know what's wrong here. Seems like a lot of shooting enemies that are really far away with a sub-par aiming system to me. Also maybe it's my eyes and I'm getting old, but I seem to have trouble picking out the enemies sometimes in the cartoony style graphics.
Maybe once I upgrade some more skills it'll be better, but so far very ho-hum.
It probably doesn't help that I went straight from Deus Ex Human Revolution (which was fantastic by the way - 9/10 for sure) to this. Hmm. Here's hoping it gets better!

Haha, I'm sure getting into games depends on your current mood a lot of the time.Markav wrote:Horses for courses. I couldn't take to bound in blood at all!
I think Bound in Blood was probably the best in the series.

Re: Call of Juarez gunslinger:a mini review
OK so I retract my previous statement about being disappointed!
Having just finished the story this morning I can happily say that I did quite enjoy it after all. Took a bit of getting into (obviously) but it had a good story, a very interesting take on true events, and the gameplay is much better when you have some upgrades, and the later levels are just more fun anyway I think.
Overall, I was impressed after all, but not 100% sure I want to go through the game again for achievement mop-up. Although I am intrigued as to what the other ending would have been like.
