Shank 2 announced! UPDATED!

If your a fan of repeatedly stabbing a character in the face with a knife, or shooting people into the air and then slicing them with a chainsaw all with amazing 2D artwork and a plot line straight from Kill Bill then you've probably already played Shank! A superb old school scrolling beat-em up with over the top violence and some great platforming too. Well if you enjoyed it quite as much as I did you'll be happy to know that EA and Klei Entertainment have just announced a sequel to the game.



Also announced is the return of co-op as well and whether there will be a separate co-op story to the main game is unclear so far but there will be a co-op survival mode similar to the ever popular Horde mode. Due for release in early 2012, if you've missed out on this rather awesome title, till the 4th October you can pick up Shank for just 600MSP.

I played the demo of the first one and it reminded me a lot of the Metal Slug games. The only reason i didnt buy it was that the co-op was local only. Any news if they are going to have co-op over xbox live for Shank 2?
