Battlefield 3 beta

Just got my early invite code, anyone else playing this early?
If not it will be open to everyone with gold on Thursday. See you on the battlefield!

got mine going to give it a go later.

This is one game that I want to try,then maybe buy it when its released.

I think a lot of people will be very disappointed with the battlefield 3 beta/demo. Just my opinion, I may be wrong

It's hardly a beta If everyone can play it.

Not impressed with the graphics and i very often get spawn killed by those bloody snipers, truthfully i`m not that impressed with the alpha that i`ve played as well as the beta, bare in mind i love my shooter games.

I really enjoyed the beta and it looks like the sniper class will be a lot of fun (its the class i allways enjoy most). The graphics are on par with other fps i think, but the thing that stands out for me is the sound effects. It really sounds like your right in the action with echo's of bullets flying around and sirens in the background. I did have problems joining games and on occations i got kicked from a few, but im assuming that is because a lot of people were trying to join the game and the servers couldnt cope. Hopefully this will be ironed out for the release and this was like a stress test for the multiplayer aspect of the game.

I played this for the first time yesterday with my brother and here are my thoughts:

It would be better if it would put you in games with people of your own type rank as me and my bro got put into a game with level 21's etc, and obviously we got demolished quite badly!

I had a few lives with the sniper class, got a few kills, and then when it went underground, went onto the assault class... Again, got demolished quite badly, cos of the campers around the objectives...

The one thing I like about it, is its not a quick thing.. our game took 25mins to do... and the level 21 on their team had over 51 kills!!! I had 23 so I was happy with that overall, but I cant help feel that from the BETA, it doesn't seem too much different from BFBC 2...

This is a lovefilm for me, as I cant see the matchmaking putting you in with people around your own rank which would make the playing field a bit more level!

You have to remember though that this is only a 1.3gb download. The graphics aren't gonna be exactly like they will in the final game. I've noticed loads of bugs, but they already know about them and are fixing them in the final product.

I played it on a high end pc last night, and it did look pretty damn amazing. So tempted to just upgrade, and stick with the PC Version.

I still kept my pre order. I think EA have over sold this "cod killer" This demo is not battlefield at its best. BF to me is huge maps vehicles with the odd choke points thrown in. This demo is an attempt to win over cod players and it just doesn't play well as cod. Let cod be cod and dice stick to what they do best, please.

I've had a very quick go and I know it's only the beta, but I'm not too impressed so far. It reminds me of Medal of Honor, which wasn't too bad and Homefront which was total shite!

the amount of glitches though are pretty annoying, i ahd some guy run into the room i was in and only his head was popping out until he killed me and then he magically reappered in full form


if theres no lag its kind of enjoyable, i still think i will get the full game on release and hope everything is fixed

i have to admit about the levelling aswell, theres level 50s already and they totally ass rape me because of their superior weapons but you can still enjoy the game i reckon, i enjoed bad company 1 after joining 2 years late and more or less everyone over level 40 lol

Had an email from EA today urging everyone to play this tonight to "really test the servers to the max" seems like they should test there other servers after some of the complaints I heard about FIFA 12 and the other sports titles out in the last month

Battlefield 3 producer Patrick Liu confirms that the Xbox 360 version of the October 25 release will include a second disc containing a "voluntary install" that adds high resolution textures to the game.

While the Xbox 360 is easily the most popular gaming console out there on the social interaction front, it’s also more technologically limited than the PlayStation 3 with its Blu-ray drive and the high-capacity discs it supports. What fits onto one disc for a PS3 can span two or more on the Microsoft console. It’s really no surprise to hear then that Battlefield 3, which Electronic Arts will release on October 25, will be coming to 360 consoles with a second disc in tow.

Battlefield 3 producer Patrick Liu told GamerZines that this second disc will come packing a “voluntary install” the adds higher resolution textures to the game. “We’re pushing that technology to the limit, and compared to our competitors, I would argue that we’re the best looking game,” Liu said in a not-so-subtle jab at Activision and the upcoming Call of Duty game.

Liu also confirmed that the game’s solo campaign, co-op missions and multiplayer modes are split up between the two discs, though he oddly wouldn’t confirm what you’ll find where.

Sounds similar to the rage install, I had better make some room on hard drive if I want this game to be pretty...
