How do you game?
Apologies if this has been asked before, I can't remember. But as there are new member's about it can't hurt for it to be asked twice.
The thread on the GSA fb page has prompted me to post this.
The question over there was:
Which prompted a few replies (thanks guys )
I personally have a tendency to play just the one game. I can't have multiples on the go. Otherwise I get story's confused etc.
I do however have a tendency to stop playing a game half way through and moving on to something else. I'll become absorbed in that game for a few weeks and then either have a break from gaming or move on to another game (sometimes one I've already started, sometimes a new game all together). Sometimes this is due to watching CZ playing something else and thinking I want a go. Or seeing him complete a game and wanting to forget the ending so I can finish it like last night I saw him finish AC:BH Should have asked him to pause so I could leave the room but I couldn't help watching!.
So how do you play yours?

The weekends weather forecast seems a bit to mixed for my liking. Sunny spots, low winds and a fare bit of rain. Which means only one thing... Xbox time!
Question is do you continue to grind on with the same game or give your self a bit of a break and try something else for a while?

RE:How do you game?
After years of leaving a game half way through and having to restart it months later due to forgetting what the dickens is going on, i'm trying to have a system where I have one retail and one arcade underway at a time. Then that allows me a bit of leeway if I don't feel playing one, I can play the other.
I may allow myself to play something else like a driving game where there is no story going on. I'm like you. I can't do to have too many stories going on at once! It spoils the immersion for me.

Re: How do you game?
I always have a Dynasty Warriors title I am working through then just flit like a butterfly to other games normally on an xp weekend or a GSA game night.
Then I moan because having only played it for 5 mins 8 months ago or often never played it I lose ALOT.

Re: How do you game?
Get in on more game nights then ya numpty
I'm a pain, i have many games on the go at once, saves me sometime when i can't decide what to play, but then if i haven't played one (especially an rpg) i often get lost as to what i was doing or meant to be going and often start again.
And more often than not if i have to start again i get fed up half way thru for not getting any cheebles and give up
I am trying tho...

Re: How do you game?
i usually try to have a few different genres of games going at the same time, then when i am bored of shooting ppl with guns i can jump onto a racing game and needlessly drive around the track millions of times...
That is unless a game that i absolutely love comes out, then its all about that game and everything comes 2nd lol

Re: How do you game?
It depends really on how much grinding is involved in it to get that 100%.Take The saboteur which i am playing at the moment, which has 1000 ambient targets to find and destroy,it`s a big,big grind,so may be a case of getting all the other acheevos then gradually chip a way at them over the weeks.
As for just playing a game for story i do try to finish that espacially if button layouts are different as control can take a bit to get used to on the more complexed games.

Re: How do you game?
For me it's always a case of trying to have as much variety as possible. I'm less likely to get bored that way.
So I'll switch from the grind of Oblivion to the action of dragon age. Or Go on to a shooter. For a change of pace I'll play a stealth game. I'm very chaotic, with a lot of different games on the go.
You might also have noticed I don't really play a lot of multiplayer. That's mainly because I prefer story based games. It makes escapism a lot easier

Re: How do you game?
I tend to have my fave sport and shooter ready at all times.
Apart from that it's a open playing field stick it in front of me I will try it

Re: How do you game?
I get addicted to one game and very rarely touch another until I've completely exhausted it. Which is why I've been playing hardly anything else other than Red Dead recently. Over the next two weeks I'll also carry on grinding away at Seriously 2.0 as I want that finished and done with by the time 3 comes out.
I can also agree completely with Cheesy Skidmark, if I don't play a game for ages I forget the button layout and either take ages to remember it or have to start all over again, not good when I've so many games I've just started but hardly touched.

Re: How do you game?
I tend to jump from game to game fairly quickly until something grabs me, then I'll probably play that till I've maxed it or simply get bored. I've done that today.....dabbled in about 6 arcade games with nothing really taking my fancy.

Re: How do you game?
It varies for me, sometimes i'll play a different game every time i switch on my xbox. And other times (particularly when i'm grinding something) i get a little obsessive about playing just the one game until i've got the cheevo i want!

Re: How do you game?
Thanks for all the answers folks Seems we have a mix of methods going on here
I broke away from my normal "Keep playing the game till it's done or I'm bored" yesterday to play Resi 5 with the other half. I guess thats my exception to the rule. Coop games with the fella.

I try to focus on specific games but I tend to just let my mood dictate what I want to play, but if something really hooks me in then I'll tend to keep playing that until its complete

Re: How do you game?
I've decided to have a change of strategy for my gaming! Recently, i've been playing just a couple of games at a time, trying to grind through to completion before playing something new. I've been playing GRID for weeks trying to grind through the multiplayer and the career mode. As a result, i've acquired very little gamerscore recently, and I have many excellent games gathering dust, such as Assasin's Creed 2!
Anyhow, i've had a sudden change of mentality, as you do!! I'm gonna start playing through some of my many excellent unplayed games. Harvest some points, finish the campaigns then move onto the next! Get that gamerscore up and experience some good gameplay. Who knows, i could get run over by a bus tomorrow before i've gotten around to playing Enslaved!!
Of, this is probably all lies, and i'll just end up playing Gears 3 for the next six months!

Re: How do you game?
I tend to float between grinding on 2 or 3 games at once, getting them as finished as possible, and having a random day where i'll hammer 5 or 6 games for 45 mins each and see how I go point wise lol.
And Colne...put the Gears down, and play Enslaved right now! Not soon, not tomorrow, not as you lay broken by your bus lol
Seriously though, awesome game mate, I recommend the hell out of it

Maybe next week when i've been bummed on multiplayer time and again i'll think "Sod it, Enslaved time"!!

Re: How do you game?
I have loads of games on the go at once, and sadly buy games ready to play once ive finished a game, but invariably start that game sooner than I should, i generally have quite a few lengthy games on the go AC brotherhood, Space Marine, Red Dead, mass effect 1, lost odyssey to name a few, a few mediumy lengthy games on the go, and then the score whore games of around 5 hours that i max out as soon as poss, its actually these games that interupt my actual gaming! i never forget where I am because I always have a guide which i mark with like a bookmark to let me know where i am (esp on lost odyssey!)
