Rambo: The Video Game
No man, no law and no war can stop this game from hitting store shelves.
MCV can reveal a Rambo video game will arrive at retail next year, courtesy of UK-based publisher Reef Entertainment and supplier Creative Distribution.
Reef fended off competition from other publishers to secure the game rights to Rambo from film company StudioCanal. The deal allows Reef to develop and release a number of titles based on the popular Sylvester Stallone movies.
The first three Rambo films – First Blood, Rambo: First Blood Part II and Rambo III – have grossed over $600m to date.
“I am a big fan of Sylvester Stallone movies, and when we had the opportunity to secure the video game rights from StudioCanal for the Rambo franchise, we had to grab it with both hands,” said Reef Entertainment CEO Peter Rezon.
“With the success of the most recent Rambo film, and an international appetite for action movies with Expendables 2 scheduled for release next summer, we felt now was a good time to do something special with this licence.”
Craig Lewis, commercial director at Reef added: “We have big ambitions for Reef and the Rambo IP is the first step in establishing us as a worldwide player.
“Rambo will be a triple-A title on PS3, Xbox 360 and PC and will capture the gritty atmosphere and full-on action which made the Rambo movies so successful.”

Re: Rambo: The Video Game
I love Stallone
Couple of years back he was guest of honour at Goodison Park for a game (I think it was against Reading iirc) and he walked out onto pitch sporting and waving our scarf. As he reached the centre spot the whole ground starting shouting Rocky Rocky Rocky. It was sponteniety at its peak . I remeber I could see him in the stand even at the end of the game too. He is a top man and a blue!

Re: Rambo: The Video Game
I loved the Rambo game on the old 48K Speccy. Came out at the same time as Commando and was a little slower and probably harder but just as much fun, especially with the music constantly playing in the background.
I wonder how they'll go with Rambo the game. It screams 1st person but could also be a 3rd person game too. Few stealthy sections of you hiding in mud and jumping out at passing Ruskies and garrotting them. Imagine a game as visceral as the last Rambo film That'd be awesome.
My only reservation would be the hype and excitement surrounding the Dirty Harry game that never materialised
They even had interviews with Clint himself saying he was excited about the project and it all fell through in the end
I would've loved to have played as my favourite ever film character in a game, but alas, it wasn't to be

Re: Rambo: The Video Game
Well they've released a teaser for this now. It's got no gameplay at all but it may well motivate you to rewatching the original trilogy!

Also the game will have original voice tracks from the movie, that can only be a positive!
