THQ and Volition Inc. have officially announced their upcoming release, Saints Row: The Third.

The upcoming highly anticipated title is the third instalment in the successful Saints Row series, and as expected, the time has come once again to dominate the city of Stilwater in the over-the-top style that series is very well known for.

Unlike the first two games in the series, Saints Row: The Third will see you starting out as the big boss of the Third Street Saints. Having taken Stilwater for their own, the Saints inevitably have increased their bank balances and reputations to a pretty sweet scale and have become more then just your average street gang. The Saints even have their own merchandise for sale, with their own brand of sneakers, energy drinks and even Johnny Gat bobble head dolls selling in your everyday local stores! (in-game of course)

With the Saints pretty much running the show in Stilwater, and the power and control of a highly respected gang of evolved street soldiers in your hands, the Saints are on top of the world. But a legendary criminal family called 'The Syndicate' who are known on a worldwide basis and happen to have some worldwide connections, might just knock the Saints off the top spot. The Syndicate have noticed the success and growth of the Saints and "demands tribute". Of course the Saints won't bow down for no one, and the battle commences as we take the fight "to a new city"!

In the official press release, THQ Executive Vice President Danny Bilson revealed a few details regarding the upcoming title:

Saints Row: The Third puts you on top of the world, right at the beginning of the game, with all the perks that go along with being the head of an elite criminal organization. There’s no delivering pizza, no shuttling family members about in a long series of taxi missions. Instead, you take all the power of the Third Street Saints and you take the world by storm.

Halo... seriously mate? Purrlease...
Out of that list it will be Saints and Skyrim(ming) for me and that's it. I will be pleased with them for a long time to come, Skyrim because it's Oblivion, and so will be HUGE. And Saint's for the sp and mp madness and mayhem and ott crazyness which has been severely lacking in games recently

I really liked Halo 1 on the original Xbox, is one of my favourite all time games, so I have to get it . Probably won't be a day 1 purchase though.

The only 2 I'll probably get on day 1 are Skyrim and Metal Gear Solid, just because I've wanted to play snake eater for years.

Skyrim alone will take me weeks to finish, and then by the time I've finished playing MGS, the other games will hopefully have gone down in price slightly, and I'll pick up saints row then and Halo.

I will be getting all of those except ass wipe and need for same

SR3 looks like a reason why proper console gaming with a 360 controller and a telly are all you need

Skyrim is a deffo!

Saint's row will probably be able to wait a while as we'll be playing skyrim for at least a month or so (which will probably lead to fights over time and who's turn is first etc lol)

Assasins creed will also prolly wait till it's a bit cheaper or will be a crimbo buy if I get enough cash.

Think that's all i'm interested in. Think CZ quite likes the look of the new tomb raider, not sure when that's due out.

I've finally got stuck into co op properly. Been playing pretty much every day. Done a bunch of activities. Some are annoying as hell, but still fun to play. Still have loads left to do too :/
