First time on Xbox Live?

Just wondering how you all got into online gaming?

I first started XBL playing Halo 2, completely new experience for me and my friends. It was the first time I saw the words Xbox Live, it was in the Halo 2 menu. I didn't have a clue what it was until my friend in school talked about, it's like slit-screen online without the split-scree.

Next thing I new me and my Dad were setting it up and then playing online, speaking to random people over seas and shooting at one another. Funny enough I won my first ever game online .

Spent the next few days playing big team games with 16 people, all new to the online experience. Back then everyone was nice, you could talk to anyone. Was an awesome experience playing online on a game I loved a bit too much, was a big step for console gaming

That's how I started, what about you?

Dreamcast was my 1st calling of online gaming quake which was amazing at that time.
Also my brother was a pc nerd so he had online when i was about 12 and would stick me on quake arena and id get hammered by pros
As for xbox live was burnout followed by pes5 and halo 2

I was one of the early adopters of live and had MotoGP something or other, as well as project gotham racing 2...

I loved PGR2 online.. I used to play with the same 7 people every sunday night... and luckily for me, they were a bit naff at it, so I tended to win 80% of the races lol.. My greatest moment in gaming happened on PGR2 when on one of the challenges (was a porsche cayenne around one of the moscow tracks) I got to number 1 in the world on and I think to this day my score is still in the top 10-15... Was sooooooo proud of that

My first time on live was Halo 2 as well. I only played it when I went to a mates house, and I was really good at it back then too. I played it loads and thought it was amazing. I spent like a year trying to convince my parents to get broadband, cos the shitty dialup we had wasnt good enough.
When I finally got broadband, everyone seemed to be pro at the game, so I stopped playing it.

My first online play was probably Mario Kart on the DS, i only had a PS2 at the time, and never managed to get it set up online.

After that it was the 360, i think the first game i actually played online was PGR4, then i started playing Gears 1 with a friend from work.

my first time on xbox live was on the other halfs account playing COD MW I got a kill streak of 8 I was so happy. I later discovered the way I did it was by camping (I was in the other teams spawn point picking them off with a snipper riffle), I knew no better. I was so proud until I found out what I'd been doing lol... I don't think I've played on COD MW since lol.
The next time I played on live was in GTA4 and I got really good to the point where American kids would constantly try and kill me all the time and spag (my very own swear filter) me off all the time for being a girl etc... Haven't done much online gaming since to be honest. There hasn't been a game that's made me think it's worth it. Though I do enjoy the odd left4dead and split second race.
But until I actually find something that makes me want to play online again properly (rather than wasting my account) I'm sticking to silver membership.

Actually thinking about it... it was back with the PS2, where I played with Timesplitters 3: Future Perfect, and Resident Evil Case Files 2.. but that was very short lived.

then the next time I was exposed to on-line gaming was with my Xbox 360, I think the first Games I had that I could play on-line with were Halo 3 - which I didn't really like the feel of, COD modern warfare which was pretty cool, but kinda lost interest after a while, and gears of war -which I tried once, got absolutely owned, and never bothered with again lol.

Since then I've been very intermittent with my on-line gaming, I mainly prefer Co-op games now it seems.

My first introduction to online gaming was the dreamcast (although i dont ever actually remember playing any games online).

The first game i played on Xbox Live was PGR 3, the first night i got my xbox and have never looked back since, I went for about a year playing Gears 1 every night with the same group of guys till about 3 in the morning. Then had a long lull of not really doing anything, in jan last year i got a message from Kent Hammer inviting me to join his forum and the rest as they say is history.

wow good response, I completely forgot about Time Splitters 3. That was loads of fun playing with my friends, best line was from the snow man when you set him on fire "I'm melting!!!"

Do miss some of the old xbox games

First started online gaming with Quake 3, whenever that came out on PC. I started out on Xbox Live with Burnout 3.

I got Live as soon as it came out and played Wolfenstein, Soldier of Fortune II and whatever else was out at the time.
My first experience of online gaming was probably Counter Strike on the PC.

My 1st experience of online was with the dreamcast too, from speed demons to chu chu rocket..
But the proper online game i played was Phantasy Star Online.. and that was the start of my ability to mess with peoples minds lol I messed up alot of people on there, i played as a Female Mage, elf in looks with red hair and a bright white bodice type thing... is it odd i still remember her outfit lol Zelda was her name and even i loved her, but that was ok, i knew she was a Female, but the other players instantky thought female character female gamer.. soon the presents of higher weapons and help in leveling up happened. Thankfully the game was text based in communication, i dont think there were headsets, we didn't have one anyway and never heard anyone thru the tv. so i managed to milk it for all it was worth, then when they wanted to "talk" i soon burst their bubble and they left pretty quick like lol

But the phone bills were fun not lol
Then i skipped the original xbox and went to 360, soon after getting it i went live, in fact 4 years ago just a week or so ago, around my birthday. 1st few games i played were The Outfit, Fear and Saints row, and back then it was a good time to play them, speshly Saints row, i managed to play it for 6 months or so before the glitches began, and never stopped was a good game
Ain't looked back since, the whore in me demands at least 20,000G out of me every year, and as im on 81,000+ just turned the 4th year, i aint doing too badly

Burnout Revenge and FIFA RTWC 06 were the first games I played on my 360 on xbox live.

Was too scared to actually talk to anybody though

GRAW was my first go on live. Id had the xbox about a month when a mate of mine talked me into going on live i just loved it apart from yank kids shouting and screaming.

My first experience online with the xbox was gears of war 1 loved every minute of it. Some dicks give me shit but that didnt deter me and i kept going.

Most of the games that i play lately are with you fine people on the forum. I sometimes get in the odd race or football game online but not as much as when if first got live

its quite hard to remember, didnt get into live play until getting a 360 which i got at launch with kameo, need for speed most wanted, project gotham 3 and perfect dark zero so it was definately one of the latter two

My first time playing online, and the reason I got a 360, was Pro Evo 6. A great game and a good laugh with the right people, still got a couple on my friends' list. It was spoiled slightly when everyone else used to play as Inter or Brazil, so they could use Adriano, who could score from the halfway line!

I played a little on the PC back in the days of pre-broadband dialup. Mainly Total Annihilation. Then got xbox LIVE last Feb to play with my brother on xbox rather then having to trek all the way over to his house for our co-op sessions.

Due to his circumstances so far this year though I played with him about once since we both got it. So I have you guys to thank for the rest of my online experience. I lean much more towards co-op even though I'm pretty good at most of the deathmatch stuff I'm just not that competitve and perfer to work together or just have a laugh in a private session where idiots don't dance over your body and teabag you. (well most of the time LOL)

Might as well, i've not hosted a game night here yet i think..
