Anyone got, or getting, Splatterhouse?

Been keeping a beady eye on this for a while and it came out yesterday, only thing keeping me from getting it, apart from the usual being skint, is that I can't help but think it'll end up one of those games that drops to almost half price in the space of a few weeks of release.
It does look exceedingly good, to quote a famous confectioner.

It looks like pretty much every other basic hack'n'slash type game but this one is going to be extremely gory, I believe this is the first game that has some kind of parental warning sticker on it.




I did a search for anything Splatterhouse related and didn't find anything, so if this is reurrecting an old topic I apologise.

I saw a few bits of gameplay from the inside xbox whats new this week video and it looked horrible gameplay wise

Might see if we get a demo on Marketplace then. Most hack'n'slash games can be a bit Marmite for me and you never know till you've played them.

Is this the old mega drive game? I think i remember something like that..
I saw some masks you could buy on the marketplace for this the other night, it didn't say what they did, so maybe they are just to look at? lol I didn't know when it was coming out but now i know, thank you mad4it

It's a reimagining *sp of the game you remember mate, I'm old enough to have played that in the arcade, used to piss myself laughing at the ridiculously slow way you fell over when you died. Put a fair few 20p's in that machine though, excellent fun through my rose tinted glasses.

looks okay not my type of game really they are a bit marmite games like this.

But does also look like the type of game that will be next to nothing in the January sales. only five weeks left

That's what's really putting me off getting it right now.
Fallout New Vegas is down to half price, Enslaved, Vanquish and a shit load of others are already down to half price within a few weeks of being released and this looks like the exact type of game that'll go the same way. Only thing is I am very impatient and want it now!!

id carry on with ya kinect at the mo mate give that a good testing and keep on with red dead undead nightmare that could tie you over. or even rent?

Unending mindless violence what's not to like, but it can wait if it is single player only so no doubt someone will finish before you know it and you'll find it pre owned

Why is it that some games seem to drop in price almost immediately whereas others stay around the same price for months.
I know it's the most popular ones that stay at full price, but surely if they're that popular, everyone will have bought them already anyway.

It's good that a lot of games drop in price so quickly, I've picked up some right gems on the cheap over the years. The best probably being Dead Space for a tenner, that game would still be a bargain at full price it is that good.

Funny you should mention Kinect, the Missis has just hinted at wanting to play some more of that. She's been on Fable 3 all day and I haven't had a look in yet and I've got some serious grinding to do on RDR and GoW. Think I might try and leave AC Brotherhood till Xmas as a sort of prezzy to myself.

Gonna have a look at some more game play vids and see what's the crack with Splatterhouse. It looks similar to Dantes Inferno from what I've seen and I loved that game.

I'm gonna see if I can win it.. If not, then I'll keep an eye out for a demo on XBLA... failing that, I'll probably trade in a few games and get it.

this will be a deffo rent for me unless it goes to £10 before i recieve it

looks like it could be a good game but at £40 seems a bit steep when your not really sure about hack n slash games

ooooh I really want this now too but mile unplayed pile is reaching a dangerous height. Another green box and I am at risk from a massive Jenga stylee injury

looked at it today.. doesnt really seem like the gameplays worth the gamerscore, each to their own I guess, just not my kind of thing.

Seems that there's a bit of a delay getting my cheapo copy from Zavvi, though its unclear why.. hmm..
