Gaming Conspiracy Theories Empty Gaming Conspiracy Theories

Post  Guest Fri Nov 19, 2010 11:32 am

I thought I would start up my own conspiracy theory topic so we could spout our inner held beliefs of whats really going on.

Heres my first one:

Gran Turismo 5 release date was put back because the game is going to be actually very dull and Sony wanted to shift a shed load of the dross on unsuspecting kids and folks who buy anything thats mass advertised at Christmas. The original release date (well the last one as they have been delaying this for years) would have been early enough for negative reviews to really affect the christmas sales. For me its got Little Shit Planet written all over it. Looks great but is staggeringly boring to play for any length of time.

and remember folks its only a theory

You would have thought with 456464446755 years development and the full force of Sony and its fanboi massive, that it would be getting straight 10/10s on review

Oddly not.

Here is an extract from IGNs review

And that's an accusation that can sadly be levelled squarely at Gran Turismo 5's overall single-player offering. Once more it's a lifeless grind through a series of races where it's more often than not simply a case of having the right machinery beneath you rather than a test of any real driving skill. It's enlivened by some special events where the dead-eyed likenesses of NASCAR's Jeff Gordon and the voice of WRC star Sebastien Loeb will guide you through their respective disciplines, but ultimately it's a shame that Polyphony didn't take the opportunity to revise a formula that was already feeling stale six years ago.

Looks like its a beautiful grind

No doubt it will sell out based on the gorgeous graphics (in places) but I just know its going to be ultimately dull.

I read you have to download a 133mb patch day 1 too. You certainly cannot have a capped internet account and a Pissy 3.

Still at least the sony fanbois have something they think they can crow about whilst the rest of us get on with enjoying our gaming.

As well as the patch you need to download, if you want to install the game onto the PS3's Hard drive, it will take at least 50 minutes from inserting the disc!

Looks like GT 5 is gonna suffer the same fate as Forza 3, looks great but the gameplay gets repetitive too quickly!

The review I read said it was not as good as Forza on many levels, add in no achieves and will I really play it much??

Hope they have a demo of it.

I found Forza sterile and boring at best so would hate trying to play this. It's supposed to be thee reason to get a PS3 as well, one of the few exclusives that really makes you wish you had the console, not here mate, sorry, nice try but no cigar.

Seeing as it's one of, if not, thee, most important flagship game for the console I can't believe they wouldn't have rigorously play tested it to death to ensure it lived upto the hype.

I've never understood what all the fuss is about with Gran Turismo, when I had a PS1/PS2 I always preferred the Colin McRae games. They weren't as pretty graphically, but they were a lot more fun and don't feel like car collecting games like GT and Forza do.

This *was* going to be the reason I bought a PS3... but I probably wont bother now... Yes, the graphics are gorgeous, but its about more than that for me..

I will wait until the dust settles before I even consider it (Knowing me and my impulsiveness, I'll more than likely get it at some point! lol)
