Activision shutting down Bizarre Creations.
Apparently Blur just wasn't successful enough.

Re: Activision shutting down Bizarre Creations.
I thought Blur was a good game, great fun online.
There are many worse developers than bizarre!
But 007 Blood Stone was clearly the final nail in the coffin as it is worse than quantum of solace........

Sad news indeed, they created what I consider to be the finest racing game ever, PGR2.
Maybe there'll be a silver lining and M$ will buy them back and let them start making a new PGR, fingers crossed.

Re: Activision shutting down Bizarre Creations.
Indeed sad news as everything they put out is quality.
I think Activision put a lot of money into marketing Blur but didn't have enough confidence in it to ship a lot of copies to retailers. I know most Game / Gamestation stores only had a couple of copies on launch and it was a game constantly being asked for

Just shows how brutal game development is nowadays, I thought Blur was good but I'm not sure a lot of people got what it was about, the Bond game was probably the final nail in the coffin as Kent says. Its a shame though as the more that things like this happen the less likely developers are going to be taking risks on new exciting games, they will just keep churning out the 'safe' money making sequels each year

Its a shame when any devloper gets canned. But PGR was a quality game, as is Blur once you get into it.
Its a pity that the new Bond game isn't good as that could have made a real difference to them.

What a damn shame. What the hell do you have to do to survive in the games industry!?
I know a girl who was working for Bizarre. She worked hours and hours when they were testing Blur!
