Race Pro views

ok guys and gals ive been passing this by at bbuster for weeks and cant decide whether or not to buy so my question to any of you who have it is, is it worth getting or is it just a big pile of steamy poo lol.

how does it compare to games like forza2 or grid?

any input would be great, cheers in advance

Pretty decent racer but falls short of forza.
imo it lies between grid and forza.
I hired it from blockies for a week and racked up a fair few gamer points but was not impressed enough to buy it.

I was thinking of getting it to jezza, but heard of a few mates that it's not as good as forza or grid so i've not bothered with it

I got it thinking it was going to be the next 'big' thing - and I am disappointed with it. Wish I had waited, and got it when the price comes down.

I currently have this from lovefilm. Its not that bad, but not the best. I've been away from racers for a while tho so it was a nice change. Points are pretty easy. online ones may take a while.

i dont know if its any good but there is loads of free dlc on marketplace for this

the downloads are just videos.

I am really disappointed in this game it is so buggy and Simbin doesn't seem to care about patching it or updating it in any way.

I have just recieved two review copies of this game from my contact at SimBin.
Simon will be reviewing this game once the patch drops.

I can 100% assure all members that SimBin care deeply about this game and have been working non stop to get the patch out asap.
It is now with microsoft and will drop before the end of April.

ok i took the plunge and although ive not played online yet (was going to wait for the patch) i have to say what i have played so far i have liked alot.

yes the graphics are nothing new, cars look good, scenery looks OK but for me where this game beats others like forza/pgr is the cockpit view, ive raced about 15 - 20 races so far in diferent cars all in the cockpit view and every different car has its own characteristics, sounds etc.

the handling in this mode is supurb, ive driven alot of caterhams and ultimas thanks to my previous job and they feel so right in that mode so big hats off to simbin from me, the feeling of control and speed works really well and apart from a lack of HANDBRAKE (confused was i lol) i feel this is a fantastic little racer that has lots of potential.

as i said i have not tried the online yet but just from a few quick races and getting started in the carrer mode i will give this a solid 7.5 out of 10, its nothing new but what it does it does very very well, just hope the online is top notch when i get chance to try it

How can it be between Forza and grid? They are both totally different games.

Grid is more of an arcade style racer where as Forza is a more Sim based racer.

That's a bit like comparing Civ:Revolution against Carcassone.

I thought Race Pro was a solid racer, and I've heard the online mode while buggy is quite good fun. Unfortunately, I was never able to connect to an online race for some reason.

There were also a lot of other errors with the singleplayer game, which I won't go into detail about here because the list is quite long.

I will just say that after being a big fan of the original GTR and GTR2 on the PC, I expected more from Race Pro.
