RAGE™ AVAILABLE SEPTEMBER 16, 2011

Winner of More Than 30 E3 Awards Sets Release Date at QuakeCon 2010

August 16, 2010 (London, UK) – Bethesda Softworks®, a ZeniMax® Media company, revealed at QuakeCon 2010 that RAGE™, the highly anticipated title from id Software™, will be available on store shelves and online in North America on September 13, 2011 and in Europe and Australia on September 16, 2011. Developed by id Software – legendary creators of DOOM, Quake, and Wolfenstein – RAGE is slated for release on Xbox 360® video game and entertainment system from Microsoft, PlayStation®3 computer entertainment system, and Games for Windows.

“Gamers all over the world can now officially begin the countdown to the launch of RAGE,” said Todd Hollenshead, president of id Software. “At id, the development team continues their work to complete our newest franchise that will once again elevate the shooter genre.”

RAGE features intense first-person shooter action, breakneck vehicle combat, an expansive world to explore and jaw-dropping graphics powered by id’s revolutionary id Tech 5 technology. Set in the not-too-distant future after an asteroid impacts Earth, you emerge into a vast wasteland to discover humanity working to rebuild itself against such forces as bandit gangs, mutants, and more. From the pioneers of first-person shooter gameplay, RAGE promises an experience like no other.

RAGE has already garnered an impressive collection of accolades and awards, including ‘Best Overall Game’ and ‘Best Shooter’ from IGN at E3 2010. RAGE was also voted ‘Best Console Game’, ‘Best Action Game’, and given a special commendation for graphics by the Game Critic Awards, an independent group made up of journalists from 31 leading North American media outlets that cover the videogame industry.

Scoring mostly 8/10 in most. I am going to wait on the price drop for this one, with it being in between gears 3 and batman it was going to take some major reviews to turn heads for a day one purchase. It does look good fun though

New ID shooter means its a must buy for me can't wait for my pre order to arrive

You guys are going to be abit pissed off I think once you play it thru.

I heard it bland, boring and really really grindy.

Also campaign and all side quests can be completed in 9 hours

My advice is wait for a price drop.

Don't always believe one review unless its a GSA review.

Some companies are paid advertising revenue, so are inclined to score higher.

Also I heard the game is 22GB to install

but it cant be just 9 hours if its 3 discs big?

yes it is 100% many reviews say just over 9 hours

9 hours will probably equate to at least 20 to 25 for me so I'm not too bothered about the reviewers saying the campaign's short.
I'm not one to rush through stories just to see the ending. Which is something I would imagine the reviewers are not adverse to doing what with things like deadlines to contend with.

9 hours for the main story, there are lots of side quests and stuff too which bump it up considerably, the reason it has 3 disks is because of the way that the new engine works, it stores all of the texture data on the disk or the hard disk and streams them from there as needed which frees up the system memory for other tasks which is how they have got the game looking so good, and also the reason there is an optional 20+ gb install, the third disk is for multiplayer

It might be a great game, if I get a copy then one of us can review it.

But I wanted to flag up this info to encourage people to research and not feel let down
