Gears 2 8x XP Event

Horde waves 1-9 all Tickers, wave 10 all Boomers and 8x XP. Starts July 1st and ends July 6th, this was confirmed by Rod Fergusson on twitter.

Lets set up some horde matches; waves 1-10 on hardcore for a few hours will boost a few people up!

I aint played Gears 2 online I would love to get together with the guys and girls from GSA and boost my score

im gettin on this i went up 13 levels in the last xp event i am goin to try get 23 this time try get to fifty

maybe i will actually remember to play gears while this is on.

Waves 1 to 9 just Tickers you say, that should make for really XP whoring as those daft buggers blow themselves up half the time anyway.
It's my rest week next week as well, might have to only work two or three days instead of the whole week.

I'm guessing by eight times XP they're talking about eight times the original XP, not the current XP. So we'll be getting four times the current, still bloody good either way you cut the cookie.

Yeah I think it means 4x the current xp, which means 2000 per wave of insane horde.

I'm starting to think I might actually get to level 100 before Gears 3 is out, I never thought it was possible before the last event.

Think I'll stick to Hardcore Horde mate, those Tickers down you straight away on Insane so could mean a lot of restarts.
If they keep offering these XP events as frequently as they are now rank 100 should be easily achievable before Gears 3 comes out.
Even if not and I'm still not rank 100 when Gears 3 comes out I'll still carry on playing it just to get that cheevo, only need that, Seriously 2.0 and the Guardian one and I'll have maxed it out. That's be only my third fully completed retail game and easily the most satisfying.

Wow cool. Will be looking forward to this sounds like some good boosting fun.

If you play on the Day One level you could always run up the stairs by the arcade and hop the wall at the end, you could wait for the tickers to come to you and you wouldn't get downed because you have cover!!

I only need seriously 2.0 and veteran gear, I'll probably find it hard to go back to Gears 2 after Gears 3 though, that's why I'd like to get it before, either way I'll get it at some point.

I assume the 8x xp applies to all game modes, horde with tickers is probably the fastest way to get xp though.

I'm looking forward to seeing how many tickers I can take out at once by tagging grenades at the spawn points.

yeah there is a shield on day one too, instant ticker death.

Definitely gonna be a race to the grenade spawn on whatever map you play on during this event.
I'll be staying well clear of Social Horde though, yet another event will no doubt mean yet more of those idle wankers who ruin the game for those trying to play it properly.

Yea we can get private going and invite people in!

I'll be staying away from social horde as well for the same reason, I'll stick to playing with people on my friends list and hopefully have some games with people from here.

There is usually a good crowd of people from here who play gears 2 so you should have no hassle getting a game. I'll send you an FR aswell

Insane all the way. You just have to do 1 wave to feel the benefit.
Get bored of that, swap maps. Will be doing this the entire week it lasts, will try and get my bro in on this too as i am sure he is a 1st class n00b lol
