New Gears 2 XP event

For the week of E3 Epic will be doing another XP event. This time they're giving us 6 times the original XP, so we'll be getting 3x what we're getting now, or double what we got during the last XP event. For a whole week too
Gentlemen, and ladies, start up your chainsaw engines.

does anyone know when this will be as I cant actually find any info on this at all. gears webstie aint showing it yet.

I started a Social Hoard match last night, it stuck me on my own on Fuel depot, on Insane (x4 difficulty) and didn't go down when ppl joined.. I am starting to fall out with this game

What difficulty have you been playing the campaign on?
It seems that when you end up as host it determines the difficulty level from what your last saved checkpoint was on campaign.
If all you're still getting is Insane matches you could give Ranked a try.
It might be that so many people are now aware of how to manipulate what difficulty you play Horde at on Social matches that every man and his dog are going for Insane.
Which is a bit daft really as the amount of extra XP is completely outweighed by the fact you're only completing 1 wave every 10 minutes because you fail so many times.
I'd bet if we did some sort of XP versus time taken to gain XP calculation we'd find Normal or maybe even Casual are the best difficulty settings for Horde as they may offer lower levels of XP, but you finish the waves off a lot quicker so end getting more XP in the long run.

Of course, all that rambling aside, the best way to play Horde is a Custom match with friends, when the option is there. You get to pick what difficulty you play on and even what map, not to mention no idle XP whores and a lot less kill stealing.

I wondered why it was stuck on Insane.. I just put that down to the 3x xp last week.
Will go into the story tonight, need to start the deleted scene anyway lol

MisterT and myself racked up some healthy XP the other night on social wingman we played nine games in a row against nothing but bots and I went up another half a level on the XP we were getting. Maybe next week would be good for another session of this

hell yeah mate that was a gud session indeed. with 6x the xp too, it would make for a great lil lvl jumper. but also horde on insane with 5 ppl would be a good way too.

As long as you don't plan on playing the higher waves lol the amount of work you'll need to do won't feel worth it for the xp. Id say you'd be better of replaying the first 20 waves over n over..

usually just the first 5 then restart from 1, can do it pretty quick and easy.

Wait until you fail a wave (as long as completing it doesn't seem to take too long) then change the map and start at 1 again... keeps the boredom at bay.

Agree with Lefty, I've tried doing the Security Horde boosting thingy and it gets very boring very quickly.

ive gotta get on this i will level up loads for sure after this week

Ya see how far you can get on a map and when you fail change, its a great way to learn the maps if you are interested in the versus multiplayer options
