What have they done to Mortal Kombat??

This video has appeared on the internet out of nowhere......it's either a teaser for a new game, or a new movie, nobody seems to know.



Ok....rumour has it that it's a short film that's being shopped around hollywood. Still not sure about how they're handling the characters though. Does it really need to be grounded in reality?

have they not learned from the past the 1st movie was ok not great but just about watchable but the rest have been utter tosh and if anything they have tainted the kombat brand

Mortal Kombat used to be so good, maybe they should try to make a decent game again before branching out into new films / tv shows?

I actually think this looked quite cool, I do hope its a movie and not part of a game tho.

I seen this and actually thought it was really good. Now if it's being mooted around in the hopes that a production company pick it up to fully make and distribute, then I sincerely hope someone does. Top looking stuff.

Gamecentral ran a piece on this Yesterday. This is an 8 minute teaser that is being hawked around Hollywood by a new Director. Its been made with his own Money so dont expect a Movie of it just yet. Thank God!

After Annihaltion i thought MK films were dead but this might just be the kick up the arse it needs to get it going again.

Being 'grounded in reality' is a good thing as after the old MK films i think if they went that direction AGAIN itd flop... big time.

Love how they explained Baraka without resorting to some farfetch'd "hes an alien" idea.

Didn't think it looked too bad. Kinda like that whole reality fantasy crossover thing. Certainly a lot better than all those batman type movies that came before...

The door “Jacks” with “on” missing was a nice touch. I don’t like it when directors/writers try to make sense or a plausible realism to characters like Baraka in this short film or any film. Seven of nine as Sonya blade kick ass.
