Blacklight: Tango Down coming to XBLA Empty Blacklight: Tango Down coming to XBLA

The hype from the developers is promising a AAA FPS title for the XBLA... we shall see!

Source:x360a.org

Announced at the beginning of this month, more details have emerged regarding Zombie Studios' multiplayer-focused FPS, Blacklight: Tango Down, coming to XBLA this summer.

Set in the near future, Blacklight is the Secretary of Defense's (SECDEF) personal direct action team made up of elite soldiers recruited from every branch of special ops. As such, they're equipped to handle fast-moving and occasionally ambiguous situations.

Amid failed technological advancements and endeavours, Blacklight: Tango Down's cityscape is a dark and oppressive urban setting of virtual billboards and quarantined zones. What's more, there's the 'Q-Fever' on the loose, a nasty weaponised strain of an insanity-inducing virus causing massive unrest as people are transformed into horrific creatures capable of using tools. They're also aggressive and impervious to pain, just to make things that little more difficult.

Apparently this near future nightmare is (quite worryingly) based on Science Fact rather then Science Fiction, incorporating future combat weapons and other tech as well as the bleeding-edge military developments of today, brought out of the research labs and into the game's world.

This equipment includes EMP grenades that disable enemies' electronic visors, Digi-Grenades that scramble enemy optics and reactive body armour. Widely customisable weapons will also feature, but the 'Hyper Reality Visor' is being touted as the most important gadget, utilising an electronic pulse to enable soldiers to detect otherwise invisible elements in the game world.
