Ubisoft thinks there is and has attached Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard as their spokesman for the upcoming title Pure Football.

The game is releasing worldwide in May and hopes to capture that segment of sports fans not already frothing at the bit for the next FIFA or Pro Evolution title.

Could it be the reference to a certain Steven Gerrard?

You might be waiting a long time before you see Arteta or Tim Cahill as a cover star!

Nah it was the reference to football, being an Everton supporter means that "football" is a somewhat alien concept.

I won't be getting my hopes up for this.

We've gotten to the point where all FIFA needs to do is add training, 5-a-side matches and extra-marital affairs and it'll have the genre maxed out completely.

the last good non-FIFA/non-PES game was Eidos' Soccer 97 on the PS1.
