Blur beta?

has anybody recieved there codes yet i have nothing in my email for today and was told for the 8th.

nope mine hasnt shown up yet either. Watch it not come untill very late tonight.

Ok the other half has downloaded this and just given a little whirl and from my perspective (sat on the couch spectating) it seems... well... interesting... it's looks like it's kind of like Mario Kart, but without the fun because it seems to be a serious racer... but it has power-ups so how can they take it seriously.

She seems to quite enjoy it however, even though she is getting quite frustrated with it.. should hear some of the choice language flying around

I thought it was the game when you use the environment to change the track and take out other players. They responded with "This game is nothing like that trash!" I sensed some hostility between them and the other Car game developers lol

Well after playing abit last night and this morning i have to say i quite like it. Admittedly i do get a little frustrated because there is always one who takes it far too seriously and decide they are going to screw you over left right and centre taking the pleasure out of it but apart from that i love it. It's fun. Yes i admit the short shreaks that come out of my mouth could be damaging to the ears

There's no denying it's trying to be Mario Kart for grown-ups, but I love Bizarre's other racers and this maintains their high standards of style and visual fidelity. It somehow reminds me of an old PC arcade racer called Motherhead, although I can't put my finger on why. After giving the Split/Second demo a bash, I have to say I'm leaning more towards Blur at the moment.

I agree, Blur definitely seems to be the most polished of the two games at the moment... the idea behind Split/Second is nice and I'm sure it could lead to some amusing games between friends but as a racer is just feels to heavy and sluggish, it felt more like I was racing a tank than a sleek sports car... hopefully with the time they have left they can tidy it up and make it feel more like a racer.
