This weeks game releases

Im undecided on whether or not to get stuck into final fantasy. Am I willing to give up that much time. I only really ever played number 7.

Alot of people seem to think this will be the best game out of the whole lot (mind you they always say that lol) however alot of people are not sold on it either. It's going to be interesting watching reviews pop up over it.

Heard that FF is really tedious for first 15-20 hours, that was enough to put me off!

Looking at the trailers it does seem a good game. But we shall see

I have Final Fantasy XIII on it's way.

Mixed feelings about it.

I'm not expecting much and hope it surprises but not holding my breath.

From what i've read, it's neither the complete break away from the previous games that was suggested nor something along traditional lines that would appeal to fans of the franchise.

Sounds like some sort of odd hybrid - resulting in the first 15-20 hours of extremely linear play.

I'd say expect outstanding visuals, a convoluted + confusing storyline and the feeling of not quite the well rounded game you may have been hoping for.

Kent - Am happy to review if nobody else has already taken this on... obviously I won't need a promo copy either.

The Final Fantasy franchise has really gone downhill since number 7... taking the fact that FF7 was an epic game of truely epic proportions and it is unlikely there will be a game like that again for a fair while, the games that suceeded FF7 seemed like they were continually struggling to live up to 7's greatness... and with each game after it the series just kept going downhill.

I think it might well be that they need to drop the whole Final Fantasy moniker from the titles, adopt a new name and go forward with that instead, as even though it is rare that any of the successive titles have anything to do with the last they still get judged against their predessors, whether that is unfair or not.

Saying that I am disappointed from the initial reception 13 is getting, I was in a way hoping that they may just be able to recapture some of the proverbial magic that was 7. Ah well, better luck next time eh?

Doubt I will get a review copy but I would like to see your take on this epic game in our review section.
