Gears 2 Valentines day massacre

"The Valentine's Day event will be comprised of:
Revives are double points in all game types
Wingman is double normal XP (4x XP)
Horde is double XP"

No intel on the official dates or times yet or whether it'll just be the 14th, but seeing as it's a Sunday I'm betting they'll let it run over the whole weekend. If you watch this thread I'm sure all will be revealed.

Was gonna say I will try not to miss it this time but then I remember bioshock 2.......Decisions, decisions......

Well if it helps you make your choice the chances are you will probably have completed Bioshock 2's main story component by that point (well if your ME2 progress was anything to go by ) so you should have a little free time that weekend

Talking about non-Gears related things... isn't there summink else we men are supposed to do around Valentines Day?

Hopefully so. Got lucky with ME2 that the week I booked time off work to sit and home and do nothing coincided with the release with the best game on the 360

Might have to pick it up again to give me a break from COdMW and I never beat the campaign so I probably should

Has anybody come across this, i put gears 2 on the other day and it came up i was level 100?. When i last played it i was level 44 then i updated it and my level went down to 1. I don`t get it Sorry i didn`t mean to sidestep the thread.

If only... did the magic achievement pop with that bug or not? I would love that to happen just so I can get that stupid level 100 achievement... I seriously (2.0) don't think I will play this game enough to get to the heady heights of lvl 100, there is just way too much grind involved.

Its a glitch mate, apparently it happens most commonly when you load up your gamertag during the title screen and unfortunately as far as I know its irreversible.

What is everyones current rank with this game? Im level 66 and cant see myself getting much higher to be honest

Somewhere around 50-55ish... and that was only for the two achievements tied to that level... I really don't think I have the will for the grind it would take to get to level 100, the amount of XP you need is ludicrous apparently. I might try for the annex based achievement at some point though.

I am at 42. If i ever get to 50 I am going to ceremonially burn my copy of Gears 2 so I never have to see it again

Ha ha I was going to try get the 100,000 kills but there is only so much grinding of the brumak level one can do before they start losing their sanity!

Agreed... I think I will grind that one out eventually, it is one of those you can keep nibbling away at... so I think I have two more achievements I will get and that last one tied to rank 100 can go eff itself

Ya i suppose you can keep working away at it. I have a few more tied to horde, the scorcher cheevo that I have to start working on and then im done with gears until 3 comes out

Shit... I load my gamertag at the title menu every Saturday for my Gears 2 Fight Night... well I used to anyway, never again, never again...

Level 57, by the way. But it was all on Double XP weekends so I'm only half as good as that. Seems to be taking me ages to get to 58 though...

think i got to 40 and gave up with it

I'm up to level 47ish (I think) but a glitch gave me the level 50 cheevy's! I was so annoyed! Not played since, I might dust it off this weekend for a bit of horde though.

Valentine's Day event this weekend:

The event starts Friday at around 7AM GMT and ends Monday at around 7AM GMT.

If Horde is already double XP I assume this means it'll be like Wingman 4 x XP....?
