Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
Is anyone getting Assassin Creed 2 this Friday. I'm not sure whether I should get it because I have MW2, Forza 3 that I need to get back into plus I would like to do some more ODST. If there's going to be a few people getting this and if it's worth getting then I may think about it.

I re-bought the first one a couple of weeks back to see if I was wrong about it the first time, but I wasn't. It was amazing to look at, but to play? Not so much......so I think I'll be passing on the sequel.

Re: Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
Cheers guys. I may rent it first to see if I like it, if not I then haven't wasted a lot of money.

Re: Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
I played and quite enjoyed the first one, but being the sensible bunny I am I only picked it up on a rental so I will more than likely be doing the same this time around... a week is more than enough to run through the game me thinks.

I have heard this new one could be up to 20 hours long which is quite sizeable for the type of game it is. There are lots of collectibles for those who want the G.Diving head first off the tallest building in Florence for 10 G was quite fun

Like a few here, i'll be waiting til it drops in price. I like the first one, visually it was sublime but it just never really got going for me, maybe i'm just the impatient type as i wanna get going from the off!

Re: Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
I loved the running and climbing about in the first game but the lack of mission variety got old fast, after reading these reviews I'm seriously considering the second game though

Re: Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
In my opinion thses titles would have made great XBLA games
The repetitive nature of the quests and the senseless flag collecting of the first title made it one of the most disappointing games ever.
However as Niteowl says the first time you swan dive or climb to a peak its very very beautiful.
If they had just made it shorter and punchier and cheaper then it would be one of the top arcade titles. As it stands it was a great idea that was just almost cut n pasted 20 times to fill out and justify a full priced game. From what I have seen II is just more of the same and it wont be getting any of my cash this time round.
Its a shame as I know there must be a fantastic game that could be made from this engine.

I'm really not sure. There was elements of the first I thought were great such as hopping from rooftop to rooftop and as others have mentioned the jumping off tall buildings but there was also a lot that irritated me such as the horse speed limit and the massive conversations every time you killed your target.
I do want to play it but I think I will just rent it.

Re: Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
I read the Eurogamer review as I find they are usually quite objective but was surprised that they gave it 9/10. The whole review read like an 8/10.
I will probably wait for it to come down in price a fair bit before purchase. I might get the first one cheaply first and play that as I've only played through it on the PC.

Gamesradar have a review up. They seemed to love it and gave it 10/10. Although it does say they adored the first one too......

Re: Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
I'm going to wait for it to come down in price or for the fella to give in and buy it lol. I enjoyed the first but it did get far to repatative. The thing is I don't really remember the story much, I was more intrested in running about on buildings, picking fights and jumping from stupid heights :S and as soon as I saw my fella compleat the end I coudln't actually be botherd to compleat it. So thats one thing if I do play the next I won't repeat, watching the other half finish it lol. got far to tedious that I just thought "Well I know the ending... why bother?"

Re: Anyone getting Assassin Creed 2.
I quite enjoyed the 1st, it did get annoyingly repetitive, but i found if i played it in short bursts it was quite enjoyable.
The flag hunting achievements were a pain, even with a decent guide they just took too long to find. I would've given up if it wasn't for wanting the points!
I've now been instructed not to buy any more games before xmas, partly due to the amount i've bought recently. But mostly so Santa might have some ideas of what to get me!
