How did you come up with your Gamertag?

Every online gamer has one but what's the reason why you chose the one you did? Some are fairly obvious, some are not and some are just plain outrageous.....

Mine's fairly simple - I Work as an IT Manager, but the main reason comes from a scene called "IT Man Cometh" from "The Office" where Tim is getting a load of attitude from the IT Techie, which I thought was really funny.

Interesting to hear the reason's behind other users......

stiffy is easy to work out but KENT HAMMER! if you didnt know he was from kent and he supported west ham then his name wouldnt look out of place on some seedy ch5 hardcore soft porn movie

i started using niteowl in forums when i suffered from bouts of insomnia when younger and i am a sheffield wednesday fan - the owls - you see.....

i used 2 own a fish and chip shop and had an email address harryhaddock so thats why i choose my gamertag

I got Weir from using my last name and I use Don because when I first created my gamertag I had just finshed rewatching all of the godfather

Don't think mine needs explaining. However i was drunk when i set it up and thought it was a like a username, and this was one of the ones they suggested. Thinking of changing it and don't mind paying the 800, but people know this one now and don't know if it's worth bothering.

Well originally I wanted my gamertag to be Daedo seeing as that's my nickname (I have no idea why) but some Spanish guy already had it. So for some silly reason I can't recall, drink may have been involved, I settled with BadassDaedo. I had this tag for about a year, and then the new dasboard update made me change my name (it was free at least) as it didn't fit in with their guidance policy. Ended up with Daedski, again probably through drink. Ah well...

Well my original GT was Paula06 - simple enough to fathom outthere and when I eventually got my butt online I loved all the different Gt's so I got some suggestions - some of which would never have been acceptable - so I chose IceXMaidenX40 (coz I was 40 that year) so when it was my birthday and became 41 - the 40 was no longer appropriate so I ditched the 40 but had to vary it slighty - you have no ideea how many versions of Ice Maiden I had to go through to get this one! ............ bored yet??? Yep I thought so LMAO WAKE UP!

Those who cannot work out why I picked mine should probably leave right now, in fact how did you even manage to log on all on your own???

Love the Forza one, but when I played Forza2 everyone thought I was really good and rammed me off the road or took the piss non stop about how crappy I was.

Mine comes from the pretty much unheard of film Cecil B Demented, I don't even particularly like the film but I thought it fitted well with my real name.

I used to be known as ImAboveAllThis which imo was a great gamertag but it was impossible to verbalise and people ending up calling me by my real name anyway so I changed it.

Thought it would be interesting to see why you chose the gamertags that you did.
My original name before I changed it was kevuk87. The reason I changed it was because I lost a football bet with a mate of mine and RottenBULLDOGUK was what he came up with, and seeing as we shook hands I thought it only fair to change it.

Mine was pretty much picked by my son.. It is his xbox so he insisted that it have his name in there.. he likes Monkeys and was five when he got the xbox.. hence HarryMonkey5.

I feel like changing it.. however he would be pretty upset with me! One of the reasons that my gamerscore is so low is that I am not allowed to overtake his! or else I will get a ban from using it He is currently sitting on 9k - and everytime I get close he asks me to get some achievements on his profile for games he is not allowed to play or even see (COD, GOW, L4D etc)

until Microsoft bring out some more child friendly games for him to boost his points on.. I will forever be stuck trying to avoid racking up achievements

Not many of you will be familiar with a band called MushroomHead. Well, when I began gaming years ago on the pc, I was known as leatherface until I joined my first ever clan and changed the alias to my favourite band; Mushroomhead.

Unfortunately, I had to cut it short. Too many people were moaning about how much of a babble it was to say the name. So I shortend it to Mushy.
I speak a little bit of russian, I also adore the culture and particularly, their history. I was branded a communist and everything back then, lol. The good old days. Well, I decided to play on that notion an called my self Mushky. It sounded russian, and felt right at the time.

The huski ruski part came from my old gaming buddy...I signed on to "vent" (similar to skype) and my buddy shouts, "Hey, its mushky the Huski Ruski"....I did laugh.

So there, from my love of russian history and by speaking alittle of the language, I became a daft arse communist, lol. Of course I'm not, and I don't play on that creation anymore. I think it has somethign to do with my maturity developing slightly sinse . Yeah, Mushky was disregarded for Xbox Live, and I simply called myself the Huski Ruski...
...Alot still call me Mush though.

Well....my names louise but always been known as Lou and i love dogs, i have 6 of them and do sports and just wudnt be without a dog and people call me DOG Mad Lou!!

Well mine came from a couple things, the MrT are my three initials of my name and my fab character of my fab tv show. any guesses LOL. The 4876 are actually my two fav numbers 14 and 13, jus add the first two together and do the same with the last two. Am wierd I know haha
