PS4 gets Jailbroken

Hackers have managed to hack into the PS4 firmware and are currently learning more about how the system works and interacts. Although the current hack does not give them access to the encryption which would allow them to create custom firmware updates which would allow users to bypass built in security systems or use the PS4 in a way Sony never intended it is a significant step towards that goal.

It is also unclear if the hack would work on the current firmware as it was performed on a PS4 running version 1.76 whereas retail PS4s are currently running version 3.11.
