Yet another new PS Vita model?
Sony has taken out a patent for what appears to be yet another iteration of the PS Vita.
A picture has emerged from a Twitter bot that reshares Japanese patents. In this case, the illustrations on the patent make it appear to be similar to a PlayStation Vita 1000 model, only with rounded out start and select buttons. There is also what appears to be a possible HDMI port on top of the portable.
The patent also refers to an LCD screen. If this is an upcoming iteration for the Vita, it is also unlikely to have other improved features that fans have been asking for, such as SD card support, L2/R2 triggers, or clickable analog sticks.
Of course, fans are referring to it as a Vita 3000, in reference to the PlayStation Portable 3000. That version of the PSP did have some incremental upgrades, including improvements to the LCD’s graphics, redesigns to elements such as the disc try and buttons, and a video out cable.
While the PSP 3000 came with a host of improvements, it is not as drastic a change as that between the 3DS and New 3DS, that would allow the later console the power for bigger games.
In any case, a Vita with an HDMI output, even if its wired by necessity, would be a useful substitute to a PlayStation TV. Would you buy a Vita 3000?

If the price is right I might consider it, I still fancy a Vita.
