Microsoft promises 'surprises' and 'something different' at this year's E3
This year’s E3 will offer something a little different from the norm from Microsoft and Xbox, US marketing boss Aaron Greenberg has said.
"Expect a lot of surprises," Greenberg told The Inner Circle Podcast, as reported by GameSpot. "We have some ideas to do some things different at E3 this year that we haven't done before. I think we're going to take a little bit of a different approach to E3 this year. But I feel really good about it. It's been really exciting.
"Expect us to talk a lot about games. And if you're an Xbox owner, I think you're going to leave really, really, really happy in the investment you made. And if you're undecided, we hope that you will look at what we deliver on games and want to buy an Xbox."
Videogamer adds that Greenberg also suggested that there will be games released this year that the company has yet to announce.
"I think this year coming up you'll see [what will] arguably be one of the biggest holiday line-ups we've ever had in the history of our business," he said. "You know some of the titles that are coming, there's definitely more we haven't announced.
"Here we are in February and already this holiday we will have exclusively on Xbox One: Tomb Raider, Forza Motorsport 6, we will have Fable Legends and Halo 5: Guardians. Those are just a few and that doesn't include any other big third-party titles or any other surprises we have internally, but I think it's going to be a great, great holiday for gamers and I think we're confident we're going to deliver high quality games again this year."
Will any of these new games be from Rare? That remains to be seen, although Greenberg added that the UK studio has “multiple projects in development”.

Lets hope they really have something to wow us with, because although I'm enjoying my Xbone, I've yet to be really blown away with anything thats been released.

I love my Xbox One but its a weird time in gaming when I find this a surprising sentence to hear from Microsoft instead of "wow look at your fantasy football scores while watching the match!"

To be honest I said the same thing for the last two generations, it is taking longer and longer for devs to get to grips with what they can do with the consoles in the release schedules they are given. And considering there isn't a massively obvious advantage this generation like moving from SD to HD that the 360 did.
Saying that there are some huge things behind the scenes like the Asure servers and true multi-tasking. Add that to the increase in processing power that makes having more complex AI and physics in games I think that we will start seeing games that mark themselves apart from what the 360 / PS3 could do in the next few years.
Microsoft really need to step up in the games department though as most games have been either average or just more of the same. The only one that I would say stands out is Titanfall which is why I am still playing it a year after launch.

I think Evolve could potentially be the same as titanfall, it has, in my opinion, got great potential. Such a different dynamic to most other games that are out there at the moment (titanfall excepted) all it needs is for people to give it a chance and stop going on about the DLC and take the game for what it is.

Yeah, not played it enough to really have an opinion beyond this is going to take a while to learn. Will get back on it soon though

It really doesn't take that long, even I can play it (to a degree ).
Both prog and TreeMunky have been fantastic at showing me the ropes with advice and little tricks you can take advantage of and I feel that I have improved considerably over the last few days. The only way that people will get better at it is if they play it. It can be picked up and played but you won't get as much out of it as you would from investing a small amount of time.
Playing with a full team of hunters really makes a difference too.

Re: Microsoft promises 'surprises' and 'something different' at this year's E3
I'm sure the games released in the coming years will put the current crop of early titles to shame technically. Just like has happened on every games platform for the past 30 years, those wily devs will eventually be doing stuff with the hardware that they didn't even think possible.

Re: Microsoft promises 'surprises' and 'something different' at this year's E3
E3 starts
the stage clears
smoke seeps on to the platform
The head of Xbox development steps forward in silence with the lights dimming all around
Behind him a giant screen flickers into life
Suddenly a booming voice is heard from the PA system
'We are going to move the flash triple bollox notification icon that blocks your screen everytime you get an ach or any of your friends pick their noses and put it top right and make it tiny.....and we are going to allow you to choose which tiles you want around the feature screen in the main blade on the dashboard so you don't have to keep flicking backward and forward all the fucking time searching for something you saw just yesterday.... and we are going to send this constant focus on app based additions to the arse end of beyond and concentrate only on making it a cunting gaming console'
The screen fades
The dry ice cascade dissipates
The man leaves stage right
Microsoft pack up and leave E3
BEST XBOX E3 EVER!
