Evolve Pushed Back to 2015

Evolve, which was originally scheduled for an October 21st release, has been pushed back to February 10th, 2015. Take-Two announced the delay in their first quarter 2015 fiscal report, and during the earnings conference call President of Take-Two, Karl Slatoff, said the following in regards to Evolve's delay:

When we first acquired Evolve, we believed that Turtle Rock was creating something truly unique, which was poised to redefine the shooting genre. Coming out of E3, our instincts were proven correct and the reaction to Evolve, including numerous awards, speaks volumes about it's potential in the market. We are encouraged by the overwhelmingly positive response from press and fans, and believe that extending development by a few months will allow the team enough time to fully realize their creative vision for Evolve, while enabling us to take advantage of a favorable release window. We very much appreciate consumer's anticipation and we're confident they will be well rewarded when the game launches in February.
A new video for the co-op shooter was released, however, so perhaps that will help ease the news for those who were highly anticipating this game.



Evolve joins a large list of games that have been delayed as of late. Battlefield Hardline was also recently delayed until 2015, while Dragon Age: Inquisition was pushed back a month from October to November. Batman: Arkham Knight and The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt were also both delayed until 2015 as well.

I was gutted to see this, really looking forward to playing it - seems like it had a new take on the shooter genre - oh well, I would rather them have more time to make it better than to have it rushed out the door

Pretty much my thoughts exactly. At the end of the day developers are still getting to grips with what the newer hardware is capable of. And this has regularly happened with next gen new releases.

Not sold on this game yet. Could see it getting a bit repetitive unless there more depth to it then just a repeated boss battle and if you can't play with a FULL team of friends both sides from release then I'm not buying it. Or if they do some bullcrap in private matches disablleing levelling and achievements.


[  rant  ] This was my biggest issue with the other multiplayer only game I've played "Titanfall" in that I just assumed twelve of us could play together on it from the start not in a update a couple of months later and then not earning burncards etc... in private lobbies was a slap to the face too. I don't care if some people would abuse this by farming them blah blah blah. If I'm buy the game brand new I want to be able to play how I want with who I want, NOT getting stuck with random fools or having to choose between ranking up/achievements/progression and having fun and a laugh killing an being killed by friends. [  /rant  ]
