Little lighty's ninty DS is on its last legs. I want to get him a new 2ds. Has anybody used them and are the kid proof.

Not seen one 'in the flesh', but my thoughts are that if you can't close it, the screens will surely be more susceptible to damage?

Also, it looks like a piece of crap. Razz

I don't know though, maybe they're more robust than they look...

"Generations" of Gameboy iterations have already shown us that Nintendo handhelds are some of the most ridiculously durable devices around. And the most common point of failure between GB/DS/3DS, especially in the hands of younger children? The hinges in the devices that had them. The 2ds is aimed at the little uns mate.

Making the 2DS's screens more scratch-resistant is less of a design obstacle than trying to child-proof the hinges. Thats why they made this to get away from the clam shell design.
No 3D though....

I recommend buying off Argos through ebay for £69.99, here is a link for the blue and black one [You must be registered and logged in to see this link.]
Pretty sure they sell the other colours if you search.

My niece and nephew who are 5 & 7 both have them and they seem pretty rock solid, plus the smaller screens and buttons are better for little hands  Very Happy
