My first ever review not great but said i would do it.

UFC undisputed.

Firstly for any gamer thinking this is another THQ wrestling game you are very wrong. UFC is a completely new game with all new physics and reactions and defiantly no 1, 2, 3 shoulders on the mat to win.

UFC fans have had to wait over 4 years for the next step in the genre, and UFC undisputed is one hell of a step forward more like a leap. The worries were because its been so long with nothing in between there might be missing a lot of the realism because there hasn’t been trial and error like the football and other sports games. But after one fight in the octagon the worries are gone, its slick, fast, smooth and the graphics are fantastic.

There are 80+ fighters with next to perfect fighting styles and looks for everyone. for instance Frank Mir has great submission and kicks but punches are week and Chuck Liddel has all out agression and power.

The controls are complicated to start off with but the design and layout is good enough to get to no within a few fights. They are far from perfect as sometimes you find yourself looking at the controller rather than the screen or while thinking which button to press finding yourself flat out on the mat. The training in the game is very well needed as lasting 30 seconds in a fight doesn’t seem like practice. However the controls are well suited and the sport as it's all about technique and skill so in some ways makes it more realistic. If you don’t know what you’re doing when you enter the octagon you’re going to get punished. There are many ways to win a fight, TKO (technical knock out), KO (knock out), Submission and decision. It is best to learn all these through the career and then work on what your good at.

The speed is a major disappointment in the game it is fast but not compared to the sport us UFC followers know. Also there is no forward motion after landing a punch the fighter doesn’t move forward for the next one and pile on the pressure and when landing a combo with jabs it doesn’t seem realistic, the guy on the receiving end does react realistically the one dealing the damage doesn’t.

Career: Probably the best Feature on the game. You start off by customizing your fighters height and weight to define which belt you will be going for. Then you choose the techniques and fighting skills you want him to have. You can choose from BJJ, kick boxer, wrestler and more. There are 5 different divisions welter weight, light weight, middle weight, light-heavy weight and heavy weight.

Once in career you have a computer which you receive e mails on and a calendar with all your monthly events on. On there are a number of things from Photo shoots, autograph signings and making appearances at other fights. One great thing is the training cramp for which you choose which team you train with. Once in the camp you are given 7 challenges which you need to complete in the time limit to earn points to learn new techniques for your fighter from ground work to new striking attacks.

There is also Training and sparring in which your performance decides how many points you get to improve your fighting skills.

You start off as the lowest rank fighter on the under card trying to work your way eventually to the main card and then the title fight you have been training for. There are a total of 7 years in you career before you die I mean retire but along the way you can earn trophy’s for fight of the night, submission of the night and KO of the night.

Career seems to be the main target for THQ and they have created a very improved version for the career in Fight Night Round 3 and it works really well wth all the features they have added.

Xbox Live: Apart from some major lag when fighting someone from a different country and the quitters it is exactly the same except using a true rank system which means you can go up and down in rank depending on the ability of your opponent and out come of the fight. You can also earn fans in the ranked matches the amount depending on the excitement of your fight. But really just tells you if your boring or not.

The servers are very disappointing as when searching for a fight 50% of the time it won’t find one unless you host one yourself.

Overall I would give the game 8 out of 10 as the graphics and overall game is great but by no means perfect. As a fan of UFC myself I think the game has done great justice to the sport and the next one I’m sure will be pretty much perfect.

Graphics 9 of 10 all 80+ fighters look and fight very alike.

Game play 8 of 10 could do with speeding up a little. However the moves and reactions are great.

Life Span 8 of 10 career will take up most of you time as it is well designed and is great to do, Xbox live can become a bit repetitive as you usually end up fighting the same fighter over and over again. But other feature like classic events and knocking out your mates keeps it Exciting.

Sound 7 of 10 Commentary is great crowd reactions are good, sound track is very repetitive thou which is annoying. And no history of your created fighter is announced before your fight.

Presentation 7of 10 and the career mode and main attractions are very well put together, the crowd at the fights and all round back ground in training sucks the menus are slow and the loadings is sometimes slow
