PS4 Red Line Of Death

it has been reported that an unexpected number of owners of the new PS4 consoles in America have been it with a sudden flashing red line on top of the console followed by a warning and then the console shuts down. while Sony have stated these are isolated incidents it is still not clear as to the scale of the problem or the exact causes yet but Sony have been quick to collect failed consoles to take them to be repaired.

while there have been alleged rumours of sabotage by student interns that were allegedly forced to manufacture the PlayStation 4 at the foxconn factory in china there is so far no evidence to support these claims PS4

hopefully if any of you are picking up one or both of the new consoles you stay trouble free (fingers crossed)

"Red line of death" definitely doesn't have a great ring to it.

In this day and age where we practically expect a percentage of our launch consoles to fuck up, you'd really think they'd work hard on developing a jazzier error warning. If I were a Sony/MS head honcho I think I would have developed something like the "seizure-inducing strobe-light of death".

I think we would all prefer if they spent that time making sure they don't have any issues

hopefully this is just a small blip that has been picked up and overexposed

I hope so . I don'y think I could cope with such a loss in the family.  

next week we will see the extent of the reliability of the new stuff

I reckon things will be fine but when you send out techy tech to knobby knobs there will always be an element of 'I tried to get it working by putting it on fire in my garden shed and it still wont turn on and there does not even seem to be a place for the cheese grater to fit so I hammered it in'
