3DS vs Vita

So I fancy getting a hand held for my breaks at work, but I'm undecided between the two. So come on people convince me which way I should go?

3DS. The XL is a decent price right now and the selection of games is great. I'm currently addicted to New Super Mario Bros 2 and Mario Kart 7, but I've also put a decent amount of time in to the latest Professor Layton. I've only had it for about a week and a half, but it's probably the best thing I've ever bought.

It's a tough call my vita and 3DS XL are currently my most played machines and I'm loving them both, 3DS has got some amazing games now, zelda, mario 3D world, fire emblem, animal crossing, monster hunter, but vita has some great titles too and ps+ as well persona 4 is becoming one of my all time favourites and I'm spending a lot of time on hotline miami lots of great indie games and a massive library of ps classics depends on what type of games you want to play but they are both great systems

Both options are awesome.

The Vita is better for online play and youtube, Skype etc.

The RPG's might make you go the way of the vita too.

But Fire emblem and Mario & luigi rpg just came out!

Maybe you should buy a cheap psp 1000 or 2000 and hack it so you can play the entire PSP and PS1 back catalogue for free............

3ds is a great dust gathering doorstop

vita is only good if you want great visuals and tonnes of free stuff via pissy plus

A gamer like yourself needs both tenners! The games library for each  is so different but there are must haves for each system as already mentioned. The problem is affording them all! Help!!

Ahh no help at all here!!The Vita grabs me for things like the Assasin's Creed game and the Jak and Dexter trilogy, but the 3DS has some great rpg's and monster hunter, animal crossing, professor Layton and Mario games, its such a tough choice!

The Jak and daxter trilogy is glitchy as hell and to be avoided I have heard.

The vita is a must buy IF you have a PS3 too as you get free games for both on ps plus

ahh now thats a major issue as Jak and Dexter were the main swing points for me to be honest!

So. I have just bought/ordered a 3DS
I fancy some animal crossing in bed.
What other must buy game should I get first?

I am thinking mario 3d land will piss this vote but am interested to see what else is mentioned.

You can never go wrong with Mario Kart. Or New Super Mario Bros 2.

Mario land is easily the best game by miles your correct.

Samurai warriors in superb as is Fire Emblem in a rpg/advance wars kinda way.

Anything comparable to advance wars sounds great, cheers.

You'll love fire emblem if you like advance wars, animal crossing is great too I've been on that pretty much every day since release, a very strange but relaxing and addictive game!

mario bros 2 is mint and i am currently playing through donkey kong returns on mine pretty good platformer to

Yeah I was hooked on the GameCube animal crossing. I wanted to become a bellionaire lol

It might be worth mentioning at this point though, that I personally don't care about the odd double post. In the scheme of life, it ain't important, especially in a community like ours where we all have an etiquette and understanding, and everyone is a top class dude.

Forum rules are needed in other online communities where idiots take the piss and run amok. 

When people bust a blood vessel and lose ten years off their life span by raging at someone that accidentally deviated from the perceived etiquette, that's what I find saddening, and is why I avoid other forums.
