Playing Super Metroid on the controller screen was rather tempting though!!

thats pretty sweet but i cant see 200 quid in the console i think the line up isnt the best

This is partly why I bought the vita and I can use on site at work win win

I do really fancy a wii-u and did have one pre ordered but I was put off a bit by the game line up, I've got faith in nintendo though they will have a plan, which I am thinking will probably be to unveil a killer line up of games coming into the back end of this year and then coincide that with a pre christmas price drop, as soon as a new 3D mario or zelda comes out on it I will be straight in there as I suspect will a lot of other people!

We need to see some stellar games at E3 at the end of the month and a cheeky price drop thrown in.

they could also do with a bit of work on the toytown controller

the buttons are just not in the right place under the right control stick and they need to be either illuminated or coloured as you really cannot see whats what when you are playing and its tough enough as it is with the fact that the labelling is completely different to the 360

I know its traditional ninty AYBX and all but when you have played proper gaming on the 360 for so many years, having the buttons in a different order is mega frustrating especially as you cannot feel for them properly below the thumbstick

At least with Sony its shapes and so you can associate that ok in the brain, but when I see I need to press X my instincts are not to fumble around for the top button. Playing the tremendous Lego City brings home exactly how poor this layout is and on a game where button pressing is more crucial I can see it being a real PITA

But as with all things ninty, they seem to think they know best. An hour with a proper gamer at design stage would have tweaked this console into something wonderful. As it is though its at best a WIP.

take it from me it makes quite a difference

and on a black wii u the buttons are almost invisible when you are playing

I'm still a bit stung after getting a 3DS on launch day only for them to sharply drop the price and then release the vastly superior 3DS XL just over a year later, I managed to pick up an XL when amazon had them really cheap last year and sell the original on ebay for a good price so came out of it ok but its not really a good way to treat the people who stick their necks out to back your products!

I 100% disagree with Everton, his eyes must be fading poor old feller.

Ninty came first, their button positions are the originals!

Xbox should have copied them. So blame microsoft as they were years late to the party.

The controller is awesome, its amazing how they got it so light.

The only downside is the battery, but that again is to make it holdable for kids.

Like I have said many times, if ninty had an achievement system then it would be by number one machine.

Lego City is great fun but I am not feeling the love for VC

did not feel it on the Wii either


I also cant feel it anyway until Ninty deem it ok to get me my account back from the nicked console

Personally the console is worth it for new exclusives but I just cant see why anyone would want to continually buy the same game over and over each time they release a new machine

If a retro game is available on both 3DS and Wii U, do I have to buy it twice?

They all look fantastic! I was a bit cynical about yet another Mario Kart game, but it does look good.

Maybe it's just the tiny YouTube window, but it looks no different to how I remember it.

Having said that, I remember the game far too well to want to play it through again already, so I've still not seen anything that's really made me WANT the console yet. Then again I haven't really looked into it that hard either, and I've yet to actually touch a WiiU, let alone play on one!
