Gaming Slump

So, i'm sure all ye guys and gals suffer from this, the dreaded gaming slump. I actually have lost all interest in gaming at the minute, and there is nothing coming out, or that is out that is making me excited about gaming. Besides the far off, Halo: ODST, and maybe the new SP content for Gears 2.

I did come on here a while back and declare that i wouldn't buy a new game untill i reached 20,000 gamerscores or for 3 months, whichever came sooner. But i was gifted RE5 and SF4 over that period and i find them both a yawn fest. I was very excited for both games, as much as i have been for other releases in the past Halo, Gears, Bioshock, GTA4, MGS4, but i couldn't get into them. Perhaps its just these games, or perhaps the more likely thing is, that its just me.

I have started getting back into the GH and RB games, as i was addicted to these last year. And i put on F1 on the PS3 (on the back of reading Simon's great review of Race Pro) and that seems to be getting my interest up again, but not in the same way as i have been in the past. Starnger thing is, my girlfriend is even starting to ask me, why aren't i gaming as much anymore. Now when she notices it, you know theres an issue.

So, what do ye guys do to get out of a slump, if ye do find yourselves in one. Or am i alone on this?

Perhaps i'm just hoping that microsoft will have some huge announcements at this years E3.

it might be you actually need a break from it, or like you are doing and revisiting older games.

I get this occasionally where I just seem totally sick of what i am doing and want to go do something else.

I play in a band and occasionally i also go through a slump where I dont seem to improve any then all of a sudden something clicks and your away again.

i have noticed that i am not getting bored of gaming just bored of my games. i find it a struggle to find a game i really want to play.

That could very well be it gary. Good thinking. I remember when i got Halo, it didn't come out of my machine for months. Perhaps i may go down to my local video store and rent something that i have been meaning to play.

i am slap bang in the middle of a gamerscore slump, i have been stuck on 36000 for ages now, its just not going anywhere. i need something new to insipre me to get some more

use me mate im on 35G now so im coming for your spot. there are afew good games coming out soon. splinter cell conviction, fight night round 4, ufc, max payne 3 but there not for a while i have noticed that 360 only brings one good game every couple of months lol then i fine myself playing COD agen for afew weeks

i noticed you were coming up on me quite quickly. gonna have to get out of the slump soon.

I too have this slump, I have in between 40 and 50 games and I cannot find a single one that can hold my attention long enough to complete it or get the points from it, What is wrong with us all, lol

i bought hitman knowing it was a hard game and the achievements were hard and managed 900 in a week gona try for the last one tonite lol i think this is where my post about vampire rain and hour of victory come in we can get lots of points on them online and work together and you can get them both for £9 delivered think you should get one of them and see how we do what you think?

Ya same as Gary its tough to find a game that i really want to play at the moment. How about you try focusing on the multiplayer aspect of a game you really like for a while, cos there's nothing better than playing a game with a few buddies cos you will always knock a bit of fun out of it.

Hmmm, i have hitman and have yet to throw it in the 360. I always liked the series on the ps2, so that might be worth a look.

Jameseire85, your right about getting into the MP of games. My broadband is back to normal again this week, after being throttled back the second time for being a bold boy, ahem. So i may give some MP games a bash.

i was just looking through my list of games and i have loads that i only have 100 or 200 gs on, some games i really love like guitar hero 3 i only have 155 or so, all i need are the multiplayer ones so if anybody is up for it. check the what games you have thread and lets see if we can all get a few more points from our games.

100 gigs every 30 days, and its a floating 30 days as i found out to my cost, not month by month.

I get into slumps so easily, but it happens with books and dvd's as well. My usual way out is to go back to an old fave. |Like today I kinda wanna play xbox but can't find the 'buzz', so think I'll try and few death matches on GTA to get me in the mood.

I go through slumps too. Got over my last one with BF:BC, then ordered Lost Planet too... and of course I've been tempted to try GoW again.

I'm feeling the love, and having a 4 day weekend means I can make a start on LP and GoW. WOOOP!
